Read the text carefully.
This is Jose! He is thirteen years old and he is in the 6th grade! He studies at Juan Lozano and Lozanos School in Ibague but he isnt an excellent student. Right now, he is at home waiting for his best friend, Pedro, and thinking about his girlfriend, Karen. Pedro has just arrived and he is talking to Jose:

Pedro: Hi Jose! How are you? Jose: Im fine, and you?

Pedro: Fine, too! What are you doing? Jose: Im watching TV! I love The Simpsons! Pedro: And your mother, whats she doing? Jose: I dont know but I think shes cooking!

Pedro: Is your father at home?

Jose: Yes, he is! He is having a shower!

Pedro: What about Karen? Is she out riding her bike? Jose: No, she isnt. She is studying English! My sister is with her.

Pedro: Where are they? Jose: They are at the citys library. My sister is coming back home at five oclock. Pedro: Look! Ive got a new movie! Its an action film. Do you want to watch?

Jose: OK! And then we could listen to the new Black eyed peas CD.

Pedro: Sounds great!

Language focus: Reading, listening and Writing (Grammar) Topic: The Present Continuous Students: Juan Lozano and Lozano (public school) Number of students: 25 Goal: To evaluate vocabulary and general knowledge about the main topic

Assessment: Summative: It measures how much students can contextualize the content and vocabulary about the main topic. Formative: It measures how well students can progress through learning this topic and it also provides some extra source for further learning. (some weaknesses and strengths to bear in mind) Formal: It is a well-organized task aimed to appraise the progress that the students have about the main topic.

Practicality: In my own opinion, the test is effective. It stays within appropriate time constraints and its easy to deal with. It also has evaluation procedures that were designed to be time-efficient, according to what I've seen and worked about this topic. The instructions were clear and the way to score is easy to interpret. Also, the use of images and dialogues facilitates the interpretation and association to vocabulary learned Reliability: This test takes one hour minimum. The test is clear and well organized. In my own opinion goes direct to the point. Its not too long and is well written. Validity: The test can be considered comprehensible and contain real environments taking into account the student context. Also took into account the students' preknowledge for information processing. Authenticity: The topic is meaningful and interesting for the students. As I said before, It also describes a real world context, using real examples. results: The test result will give Ss the chance to be aware of what their weaknesses must be focused on.
