Training Workshop on: Capturing Gender Equality Results and Implementing Impact Evaluation in ADB operations October 09 -11,

2013 at Hotel Radisson Blue, Dwarka, Delhi

1. Gender equity is one the five drivers-of-change identified in ADBs long term strategic framework, 1 Strategy 2020, that will drive the Asia and Pacific Region (to be) free of poverty . Towards this end, the ADB Results Framework 2013 has set the target of 45% of all ADB operations to be classified as GEN 1 (Gender Equity) or EGM (Effective Gender Mainstreaming) by 2016. The Gender Equality and Womens Empowerment (GEWE) Operational Plan 2013-2020, approved by the President on 29 April 2013, has emphasized greater focus from at entry design to project implementation and monitoring, and reporting gender equality outcomes. Delivering better gender equality results means closer attention to implementation, monitoring, tracking and reporting. The objective of the workshop is to strengthen the ability of ADB Project Directors and staff to mainstream gender in the implementation of ADB financed projects, in line with Government of Indias and ADBs policies, strategies, schemes and program. The program will promote lateral learning and peer exchange by sharing practices on gender mainstreaming across India. 2. One day training program on Implementing Impact Evaluation in ADB operations will aim at strengthening capacities of Project Directors to effectively monitor results frameworks, and capture development results. This includes an understanding of tools available to do systematic monitoring and evaluation of their projects and undertake quality impact evaluations.
