Newsletter, Research Paper, and Mailing Labels


Project Description:

In the following project, you will format a newsletter by inserting pictures and screenshots, applying two-column formatting, and adding a border to a paragraph. You will edit and format a research paper by inserting footnotes, creating citations, and formatting a bibliography. You will also create mailing labels.
Instructions: For the purpose of grading the project you are required to perform the following tasks:

Start Word. Download and open the file named go_w03_grader_h3.docx. On Page 1, click at the beginning of the newsletter title. Insert an online picture from Office.com Clip Art, by searching for microscope. Insert a picture of a black and white microscope. If you cannot locate the picture, use the Insert Pictures command to insert the picture downloaded with the files provided with this project go_w03_grader_h3_microscope.jpg. Recolor the picture by applying Blue, Accent color 1 Light. Apply a Black, Text 1 Picture Border and change the Weight to 2 1/4 pt. Scale the picture to 10% of its height, and then change the Text Wrapping to Square. Change the Horizontal Alignment to Left relative to Margin and the Vertical Alignment to Top relative to Margin Starting with the paragraph Are You Getting a Good Nights Sleep?, select all of the text from that point to the end of the pagedo not include the Page Break in your selection. Format the text in two columns, and then apply Justify alignment. Insert a Column break before the subheading Can Chemistry Help? Save your file. Start Internet Explorer, and then navigate to www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health and then in the middle of the page, click Sleep Disorders. In your go_w03_grader_h3.docx file, click at the end of the paragraph below the Are You Getting a Good Nights Sleep subheading. Insert a screenshot of the websitedo not link to the URL. Apply a Black, Text 1 Picture Border and change the Weight to 1 pt. Select the subheading Are You Getting a Good Nights Sleep? Use the Font dialog box to apply Bold and Small Caps, and to change the font color to Dark Blue, Text 2in the fourth column, the first color. Apply the same formatting to the subheadings Light and Sleep, Can Chemistry Help? and Sleep Aid Apps. Select the Light and Sleep subheading and then change the Spacing Before to 18 pt. Select the last paragraph in the newsletter, which begins Sleep plays a vital, and then apply a 1 pt Shadow border using Black, Text 1. Shade the paragraph using the Fill color Dark Blue, Text 2, Lighter 80%in the fourth column, the second color. Center the paragraph text. On Page 2, change the line spacing for all of the text on the page to 2.0. For the same text, change the spacing after to 0 pt.

At the end of the document, insert a manual page break. Save, but do not close, the go_w03_grader_h3.docx document. Press CTRL + N to open a new blank Word document. In the new blank Word document, start the Step-by-Step Mail Merge Wizard. Set the document type to labels and then proceed to step 2. Select Avery US Letter labels, product number 5160 Easy Peel Address Labels. Select the downloaded file w03_labels.docx as the recipients list. Insert an Address block using the default Joshua Randall Jr. format, and then match the fields. Match the Address 2 field to the Unit field, and then update the labels. Preview the labels, and then select the Word table that forms the labels. Change the Spacing Before to 3 pt and then complete the merge. From the merged labels document, select and copy the first row of the table containing the mailing labels. Return to the go_w03_Grader_h3.docx file. With the insertion point at the top of Page 5, paste the copied mailing labels.

Save and close the go_w03_Grader_h3.docx file. Close all other documents without saving the changes. Exit Word. Submit the go_w03_Grader_h3.docx file as directed. Total Score
