Logos
Description: Create three different logos for a company. Date: November 1, 2013 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Section 4 Julie Peterson Programs/Tools: Adobe Illustrator Objective: Create a variety of logos to fit a company or personal image. Process: I used adobe illustrator to complete this project. For the first logo I used two different fonts and was able to add some color that brought contrast to the piece. I also used two different font sizes so their would be a larger contrast. I was able to use the tool and make each of the letters an object so I could adjust and move them. For the second letter I decided to create my own bike wheel using the shape tool and then using the pen tool for the lines. I then grouped them together so the wheel would stay together. One the last logo I was able to use the shape tool and pen tool to make my own bike. Then I grouped together the whole bike. I used a more decorative font that would stand out against the straight features of the bike.

Brochure
Description: A two sided(duplex) folding brochure. Date: December 5, 2013 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Section 4 Julie Peterson Programs/Tools: Adobe Indesign/Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator Objective: Set up and align a two-sided, folded document. Process: I began my brochure by setting my guides in Adobe Indesign. I was able to create a new logo for my company and group all the objects together. Then I searched the web for pictures that would match well with my colors and would display what merchandise is offered at my bike shop. I picked a color scheme that included black, white, grey, and red. I was able to create a bike wheel using the eclipse tool and pen tool and then grouped it together so I could re-size the wheel. Using text wrap I was able to wrap some of my text around the wheel inside my brochure. I also created a new paragraph style in order to make my headings match and have the same format. I made sure to align all of my text and headings with my pictures. I also used repetition by using the same wheel for my border and incorporating it with logo as well.

Montage
Description: Combine two images and make them blend together using Photoshop. Date: October 25, 2013 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Section 4 Julie Peterson Programs/Tools: Photoshop Objective: Learn to manage layers, blend images together, use filters, and choose good quality images. Process: I began my project by picking two pictures to blend together. I chose my wedding picture and a picture of the Rexburg Temple. Next I used Photoshop to add layers and a mask in order to blend the pictures. I also was able to use the sharpen object filter to make our picture look a little clearer. Using the mask tool I was able to use the brush to blend the two pictures together. I also used hue and saturation to make the picture of me and my husband black and white with a little color left. Then I added a little text that popped to my picture to finish it off.

Imaging
Description: Use Adobe Photoshop to edit image. Date: October 17, 2013 Course/Instructor: Comm 130,Section 4 Julie Peterson Programs/Tools: Adobe Photoshop Objective: Learn basic photography skills. Use a digital camera to take a quality image. Process: The beginning of this process was to go out and take our own original pictures. I was able to learn the tips and how to take better pictures and learn how to focus different parts of the picture, take pictures at different angles, and see the affects of using a flash. Then I took the picture into Photoshop and was able to desaturate the background. I then used the filter tool to add the bright yellow color to the flower. I also sharpened the image so the edges would stand out more. I was also able to crop the image so that you get an up close shot of a beautiful flower.

Letterhead
Description: To create a new logo that can be used to represent a new company and be able to sign a business card that matches. Date: November 7, 2013 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Section 4 Julie Peterson Programs/Tools: Adobe Illustrator Obejective: To create a new logo that fits a company. Process: I used Adobe Illustrator to first design a new logo. I was able to draw my own bike wheel and then used Command G to group the items together. Then I used the text tool to create that design for the text and place it in the appropriate place. After that I copied the wheel and made it large and turned it into a watercolor by lowering the opacity to 10%. I also used point 9 font for the bottom text and was able to use my rulers to align the logo with the bottom text. For the business card I just copied and paste the logo and information onto the business card and made sure to align the text to the logo again. I also increase the logo to stand out more on the business card.

Date: October 4, 2013 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Section 4 Julie Peterson Programs/Tools: Adobe Indesign Objective: Incorporate basic Indesign skills to improve basic flier layout. Process: In order to complete this project I was able to first copy all the text and picture from the file provided that contained all the information on the project. I was able to learn how to use basic tools in Indesign that helped me to complete this project. In my project I used a diagonal alignment to create a nice flow in the information. I also used a large header in order to draw in the audience. I used .5 margins all the way around the flier to give it a nice clear boarder. I used the rectangle tool in Indesign in order to make the date, time and place stand out more. I also used two different fonts in order to create a contrast between the header and the body text.

Event Ad
Description: This ad is to meant to be a fundraiser that will draw people in and participate in the event that is being advertised. Date: October 11, 2013 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Section 4 Julie Peterson Programs/Tools: Microsoft Publisher/Word Objective: Find, scan and import a high-quality image. Create a full bleed. Process: I began by finding an image from a book in the library. I knew I wanted to do a toy drive and then I stumbled upon this bear and knew I could make it work. I was able to use Microsoft Publisher/Word to complete this project. In order to get just the bear in the picture I had to remove the background and then I also was able to find the snowflakes in clip art. This was a great project for me because I love making advertisements for events. I find it more interesting and useful with my major to do advertising for events.

Web Page
Description: A web page designed to showcase my personally made logo. Date: November 22, 2013 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Section 4 Julie Peterson Programs/Tools: Textwrangler Objective: Design a webpage using HTML. Process: To create this web page I used Text Wrangler to create the Html for my web page. I used the proper coding in order to create paragraphs, list, headings, paragraphs, and images into my web page. After completing my Html code I was able to validate it to show that I used the correct coding. I also was able to link my Html to a Css in order to personalize my page. I then was able to add different color, fonts, and other styling tools to make my page unique from others. I changed the background colors, added in different headings, and changed my fonts. Another code I used was the padding in order to move my headers over so that they were all aligned. My logo was designed in Illustrator using the shape tool, pen tool, and direct selection tool. I also grouped all the items together so I could modify the wheel as one object. I used diagonal alignment with my text in my logo to give it strong alignment.
