Dear friends in scouting,

The Scout Organization of Serbia would like to invite you to the 9th Serbian Scout Jamboree that will take place in Bela Crkva from 25th July to 8th August 2014. The largest event organized by the Scout organization of Serbia is a great opportunity to visit Serbia and experience the Serbian hospitality and scouting. Moreover, since the invitation to participate is extended to all national scout organizations members of WOSM, this event will also be a great opportunity to meet scouts from different European countries. Under the motto One idea, one dream one goal the event will bring scouts working together, exploring the rich and diverse Serbian culture and traditions, sharing ideas and engaging in diverse activities and programs.

Some basic information about the event
Date: 25th July to 8th August 2014 The site: The jamboree will take place at Bela Crkva, a town situated in the valley of the Nera river in the south-east part of Vojvodina, geographical coordinates 44-53-55 and 21-2524, 96km from Belgrade. The town itself is surrounded by several rivers and seven lakes which makes it ideal for different types of outdoor activities and has provided the town with its nickname The Venice of Vojvodina. In addition to this, the town is a multicultural community of about 12 000 inhabitants coming from 27 different nationalities. The climate is moderately continental with temperatures varying between 23 and 35 degrees in summer. The camp: The camp of the jamboree will be situated by the main city lake. It will be divided in 5 sub camps and a separate sub camp for the members of the IST. Each sub camp will have its own toilet and washing facilities. Each sub camp will be managed by the sub camp leader, sub camp commissioner and the deputy international commissioner who will be responsible for delivering of programmed, safety, hygiene, food and facilitating communication with the international participants. Participants profile: The program of the jamboree is aimed at two different age sections in Serbian scouting: scouts aged 11-15 and venture scouts aged 15-19. Rovers aged 19-25 and adults can participate either as leaders, or as the members of the IST

Program: The program of the jamboree will be divided into several different sections: ceremonies, protection and conservation of nature, sports, culture and tradition, peace education, field trips, water based activities, science and technology, 21. century leadership skills, Sunrise day and the international dimension of scouting, health and safety. Logistics: Meals will be distributed from a centralized kitchen since cooking is not allowed on the site. There will be three meals per day served in disposable packaging. The participants will only have to bring their own utensils (knife, fork, spoon, etc). Special dietary needs will be observed in case they have been announced during the registration process. Accommodation is in tents that participants bring with them. The full list of equipment needed will be distributed at the later stage. Health insurance: All the participants should do a regular medical checkup before arriving on site. There will be a medical service consisting of a doctor, a nurse and ambulance during the event. Participation fee: The participation fee is 180 Euros. The fee covers all the meals, the program materials, participants pack and short field trips that will be organized as a part of the program. The participation also covers the transport to and from the Jamboree site for the participants arriving to Belgrade or Timisoara airport. International Service Team: Rovers aged 18-25 and adults can join the Jamboree as a part of the International service team. The full list of positions available for the IST will be published on the jamboree website. The participation fee for the members of the IST is 75% of the full participation fee. Deadlines and registration: Deadline for registration is May 1st 2014. The registration forms in English can be obtained by request. Deadline for payment and payment details will be announced at a later stage.
