AWARD OF GENERAL PERFORMANCE (G.P.) MARKS

As per requirement of the merchant shipping industry, all marine engineering students are imparted training for development of personality and skill in organization management. Every students / Cadet is required to actively participate in various activates of the institute as well as various Co-curricular and Ex-curricular activities. Every cadet will be awarded G.P. mark for all his activities stated below. This is applicable from 3rd Semester onwards. Final semester too is exempted from G.P. Marks. In order to offer equal opportunity to all cadets to earn maximum amount of G.P. marks allotted for any semester and also to all participation of all cadets in all ex-curricular and cocurricular activities, the distribution of G.P. marks as per chart below. G.P. marks will be deducted for indiscipline activity mentioned as per the attached chart. The total G.P. marks allotted for each semester will be divided into three groups A, B and C. A cadet can earn maximum amount of G.P. mark in a each group by means of taking part in a the ex-curricular or co-curricular activity mentioned under each group. G.P. marks to be assimilated by the faculty-in-charge of the respective fields and finally to be awarded by the marine professor in charge of student activities. For any moderation or review if needed, decision of principal (Head of Institute) will be final.
