The Brightons have a very blessed life. John owns a very prosperous business with his self-centered brother Phil, played by David Morin, while Ellen is a very devoted elementary school teacher. Life couldnt be any better until tragedy strikes this wholesome family. While at a speaking engagement, Ellen faints on the platform and is rushed to the hospital. It is there that they find out Ellen is suffering from Alzheimers. As the memories in Ellens mind begin to fade, so does the foundation that the family stands on. Johns business is suffering, and Phil is ready to take over. John is falling for another woman he met while jogging named Julia . ack at home; Terri is going through a difficult time trying to cope with her mothers illness and the lack of her fathers attention. With his faith shattered and his marriage in jeopardy, John turns to the friend of the family and accountability partner, Alexander. Despite of these struggles john never left her wife. For me in this part it shows the meaning of the quotation that love is unconditional. A vow to cherish is a one of a kind movie despite of having its downs which is just a normal composition of a movie. The strength of the movie is that it shows the wholeness of the family, being there to each other. The love for the opposite sex that is pure, compassionate and unconditional. This movie never loses its emotional and soulful impact. Even with the four or five different storylines intertwining among themselves, there is a clear theme, the acting is great and the outcome is tremendous and that is that God does not gives us anything that we cant handle as long as you have the love from God and the love from family. However, I dont like the part in the movie wherein John had almost fall in love with the other woman, it comes to the point of living her ill wife. This part of the movie gave me an idea of infidelity but he did come to her wife. I think john lose his fate for love. I like this movie a lot because this movie showed what a family should be. It should be together and supporting each other especially in dark times. A love for each other that no one can understand. A love for your wife that is real and true, a love that is not doubtful. I know this sounds idealistic nowadays. Fidelity as of now seems very difficult to maintain for relationship. The casts are Barbara Babcock (Ellen Brighton),Ken Howard (John Brighton),Ossie Davis (Alexander Billman),David Denman (Kyle Brighton), D. David Morin (Phil Brighton) and Donna Bullock (Julia Sinclair).
