Nokia Siemens Networks SRT 1FTM Microwave Radio Synchronous radio for trunk applications

Nokia Siemens Networks SRT 1FTM is a digital microwave communication system based on the SDH specifications conforming to international communications standards such as ITU-T, ITU-R and ETSI. The system can support the full range of radio frequency bands recommended by ITU-R (4G, 5G, L6G, U6G, 7G, L8G, 11G, 13G) and frequency spacing of 28 MHz, 29 MHz, 29.65 MHz and 40 MHz.
High compactness and flexibility make SRT 1F the right choice for high capacity telecommunication scenarios where quick deployment, fast network rollout with high reliability are a must. System Overview Nokia Siemens Networks SRT 1FTM system processes STM-1 (155.52 Mbit/s) base band signals in the SDH hierarchy, limiting their bandwidths within a single radio frequency band stipulated by ITU-R based on a multi-level QAM modulation technology (such as 64 or 128 MLCM depending on radio frequency spacing). The system supports both alternated pattern and co-channel operation with XPIC equalization, thus doubling spectrum efficiency. ACAP, ACCP and CCDP channelling schemes are supported at all frequency bands. N+1 Radio Protection Switching (RPS) is implemented on the radio side. Hitless switching with early warning detection is implemented against propagation impairments such as multipath fading. The RPS ensures redundancy of the main signals (STM-1), Way Side and User channel (F1) signals. Line side, (1+1) multiplex section protection is implemented for the STM-1 optical interface as option. Customer Benefits All BB (Baseband), IF, RF sections of the system are integrated in a single compact K-shelf 1155mm high, housing up to 8 transceiver units; an expansion K-shelf can be equipped also, thus allowing up to 16 transceivers in one ETSI rack, configurable as single terminal or double terminal East/West. The traffic interface can be chosen electrical, optical (SFP module) and GigaEthernet (SFP module). The system can be supplied with TL1/OSI controller or SNMP/IP controller having embedded Web LCT functionality accessible via standard HTTP browser. The system operation can be chosen as MST mode or RST mode via SW setting, in full compliance with SDH hierarchy. Each transceiver unit includes all BB processing, IF and RF parts according to single board concept for maintenance optimization. Wide band tunability of the RF section (half band for 4 to 8 GHz, quarter band for 11-13 GHz bands) allows minimization of spares need in maintenance stock (just two units for each band from 4 to 8 GHz, 4 units for 11 GHz and for 13 GHz). The use of plug-in RF branching filters allows fast branching modification for system expansion and/or configuration upgrade. An expansion of capacity or an upgrade to space diversity are easy operations which can be properly done without any traffic interruption by acting on the plug-in branching filters arrangement.

Network Management Microwave Management System Nokia Siemens Networks NetViewer supports SRT 1F microwave system. An overall view of the complete network structure and its ability to enter down to the Network Element details give a clear picture of the whole network, its configuration and events. Fault, Configuration and Performance management are carried out at Network Element level; at Network level, Fault and Security configuration are available.
