Overview This feasibility study on an airport bus transportation service, which is meant to explain the idea of directly carrying

passengers from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) to the different areas of the Cebu metropolis and vice versa, aims to inform the administrators and adaptive customers of MCIA that establishing the system is not only beneficial to the institution but also to the travellers in the society. It is accounted that numerous airline passengers are supportive to the idea as shown in the market survey results. The research shows that despite of the existing competitors that pass along the airport, there is yet a potential market specifically the domestic airline passengers who have long wanted a cheaper, reliable and yet convenient means of airport transportation. The transportation service, or Airport Buzz as its service name, will take a position in the market as an additional means of transportation that will be under the management of MCIA Authority through another division. It is believed that as improvements go along smoothly in the airport, it isnt far from realizing the establishment of its own bus transportation that will be made available to the captured market. Technical and operational requirements have been examined in this study particularly in the context of service process like matching bus schedules to flight schedules; assessing traffic issues, road capacity and route options; choosing suppliers, human resources, facilities and locations; learning bus maintenance or procedures; and meeting captured demand and preferences (as may apply). The researchers conclude that although running the system maybe new, such technicalities can be met by the authority as suggested in the contents of this book. The analysis of its financial viability suggests that operating the Airport Buzz under MCIAA is feasible. The proposed transportation service requires a huge capital outlay during start-up as total project cost is carried out in the first year. However, this is not a negative issue as ways of supporting such costs have been determined. It is seen that the project will have an even financial stability on its first years but will surely find its way to rise after the payback period assuming increase of demand on specific stages of its service life cycle and the efficient utilization of resources. The analysis and assessments written in this book for the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority thus concludes that the project for an airport bus

transportation system is feasible, realistic, and doable. Finally, the implementation or development of this study remains in the control of MCIAA.
