The HoIy Spirit is fully divine and is identified as being equal with God the Father and fesus Christ the Son (base,i on Matthew 2S:lb; Acts J-ohn 14:76_18; 5:3-4, 16:6-7;Il Cotinthiafls 73:14). A. Divine characteristics(a partial Iist to illustrate the deiiy of the Holy Spirit) 1. Divine works (a partial list to illustrate the cooperation of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) 1. The creation of the world was accomplished through God the Father (Genesis 1:1; Isaiah44:24;45:72, 1g; 51:13a;Ephesiani3:9), Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:16; Hebrews1:2, 10), and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:2). The Holy Spirit and God the Father were present and active in the virgin birth of JesusChrist (Luke7:JS),the baptism of JesusChrist at the hands of John the Baptist (Matthew3:16_17; Luke3:21-22), the earthlv life-and ministry of JesusChrist (Luke4:1, 14; 9:28_36, esp.uerse35; Acis 10:38), and the resurrection of JesusChrist (Acts S:30; Romans g:11). The Holy Spirit, God the Father,and JesusChrist are all involved in the eternal plan of redemption (Hebrearc 9:11_15, esp.uerse74;I peter 1:1_2). Eternal life is granted to a believer through ihe work of God the Father (Ephesians 2:4-7, esp.uerse S; I lohn S:11),JesusChrist (lohn 6:40; I lohn 4:9, 5:11-12),and the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9_111. The wisdom of God the Father is revealed throuqh the ministrv of the Holy Spirii (1 Corinthians 2:10-11) and Iesus"Christ the Soir (I Corinthians1:24, 30).
