Absence of Bias

This is about bias! not "udgment #"udgment is a byproduct of bias! $ believe! and $ %ant to focus on the absence of bias vs trying to chase the tail of the dog&. 'ere(s %hat the dictionary says about the %ord bias ). A preference or an inclination! especially one that inhibits impartial "udgment. 2. An unfair act or policy stemming from pre"udice. *. A statistical sampling or testing error caused by systematically favoring some outcomes over others. +ports. ,. A %eight or irregularity in a ball that causes it to s%erve! as in la%n bo%ling. The tendency of such a ball to s%erve. To influence in a particular! typically unfair direction- pre"udice. These verbs mean to influence unfavorably or detrimentally. //'is e0periences biased his outloo1. //2our misbehavior has colored my opinion of you. //Dishonest leaders have "aundiced her vie% of politics. //3ying has pre"udiced the public against them. //4itterness has %arped your "udgment. $nteresting perhaps! but nothing all that ne%! right5 'ere(s my ta1e on bias as it applies to absence of. ). 3et(s "ust say that having a bias! for or against something! is natural. After all! if %e have preferences or inclination! there(s going to be bias! yes5 2. 6hen $ did est many! many years ago! one of the things they teach you in the training #and in other schools of thought as %ell- it(s not uni7ue to est& is that nothing has inherent meaning- %e assign meaning to virtually everything individually through e0perience and collectively thorough our culture. *. $ am guessing that %e humans feel a N88D to bias in order to 1no% %ho %e are. $f $ am 9 and you are 2 and they are 1um7uats! then $ get my sense of identify from you as 2 and from the fact that $ am clearly not a 1um7uat. ,. One of the tenets of spirituality is that %e are all one. $f %e are all one! %ho needs bias5 :. +o! bias is a function of disconnection! yes5 Disconnection that may stem of ignorance! history! cultural differences! preference differences. ;. As %e move to%ard the state of <absence of< %e %ould have less of a need for bias! yes5 After all! if %e are moving to a state of transparency! %hat %ould differences matter5 They certainly %ouldn(t mean anything any longer! %ould they5 =. +o! rather than trying to manage our "udgments of ourselves! others! events or situations! %hy not "ust absence bias instead5 'o%5 Of that! $ am not sure. >ot an idea5 $f so! email it to me and $(d love to share it %ith the group. $ hope this %as helpful.
