Abstract:
Fat reduction and skin tightening using the TriPollarTM RF technology – clinical
experience

Background:

Aging process is accompanied with unwanted visible signs such as the appearance of
wrinkles, cellulite and fat deposits. The non invasive TriPollar RF technology is intended
for the treatment of such indications, resulting in body and facial skin tightening and
reduction of cellulite and circumferences.
The TriPollar RF specially designed electrodes generate focused heat which is targeted
simultaneously to the dermal and fat layers due to the tissue relative electrical resistance.
The heating process stimulates therapeutic effect resulting in increased natural fat
metabolism and collagen regeneration.

Method:

The apolloTM devise based on the TriPollar RF technology has been used at the clinic for
body and facial treatments. A Large applicator was used for large body areas such as the
tummy, thighs and buttocks whereas medium and small applicators were used for smaller
areas such as the arms and the face. The specially designed small applicator is optimal for
small, delicate facial areas such as naso-labial, perioral and periorbital folds. With the
TriPollar technology, the outer surface of the skin remains protected and no active
cooling of the electrodes or the skin is required.

Results:

Skin tightening effect is visible in most of the patients immediately after the treatment.
This temporary effect indicates the stimulation of a process leading to collagen
remodeling. Long term results following several TriPollar treatments indicate facial skin
firming and tightening with softening of wrinkles and fine lines. Significant reduction of
circumference and fat deposits was detected in various body areas. The outer surface of
the skin remains protected and no active cooling of the electrodes or the skin is required.

Conclusion

The TriPollar treatments stimulate natural fat metabolism and collagen remodeling. Since
the treatment is safe and pleasant also when applied on areas of loose skin, it is highly
recommended for patients post pregnancy, post liposuction and post dramatic weight
loss. A combination of the TriPollar technology with other aesthetic procedures can be
customized according to patient’s specific indications.
