REGISTERED NURSES provide teaching, guidance, support, and screening and immunization services. IMMUNIZATIONS: Eligible children: No health insurance or insurance that does not cover vaccines; can bill MA or MinnesotaCare. Eligible adults: No health insurance or insurance that does not cover vaccines. Private pay adult: Vaccines are limited to Tdap, Pneumococcal, Hepatitis B. Billing private health insurances is limited. FLU SHOTS: Most insurance plans can be billed. Call for details. HEALTHY ADULT PROGRAM: On the Road to Better Health by discussing choices to promote optimal health and wellness. HEALTHY FAMILY PROGRAM: Information and support to ensure optimal health of the entire family; including weight checks. DENTAL WELLNESS PROGRAM: Provides information on good oral care for the entire family. FLUORIDE TREATMENT: Fluoride varnish is applied to prevent tooth decay; from first tooth eruption through adulthood. WELL CHILD CHECK: Physical and developmental exams for those, ages 6 months through 20 years, with no health insurance, no wellchild coverage, or have MA or MinnesotaCare. At Human Services Center and by appointment only. ($10) CHILD CAR SEAT CHECK: Correct use and placement training and recall check. (MA) Medica & UCare or income eligible seats are available. Appointments at Human Services Center are available year-around. Billable for children on PMAP (Medica or UCare) COMMUNITY RESOURCE: Available local services; including affordable health care resources and useful community services TAKE HEART MINNESOTA: Sudden cardiac arrest survival training for infants to adults. SCREENINGS: Includes a risk assessment, education, and support provided to promote optimal health and wellness. (Free) Blood Pressure: To assess risk for potential hypertension. ($35 or $25) Cholesterol: Fasting ($35): Complete lipid profile on blood sample from finger stick: Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides and blood sugar are checked. A 12-hour fast is required. Non-Fasting ($25): Measures Total Cholesterol and HDL only. ($5) Blood Sugar: Finger stick to determine risk for diabetes. An 8-hour fast is suggested. Billable for children on MA or MNCare. (Free) Pregnancy test: Urine sample may be able to determine positive result if after first missed period. ($5) Hemoglobin: Finger stick to determine level of hemoglobin in blood. Billable for children on MA or MinnesotaCare. ($20) Lead: Finger stick to determine level of lead in blood. Billable for children on MA or MinnesotaCare. ($35) Mantoux: Skin test for Tuberculosis; requires follow-up visit 48-72 hours to interpret results. ($6 or $12) Radon Test Kit Take home test for radon in the home. Short and long term kits available. Well Testing Kit: Take home kit for Nitrites and Coliform Bacteria. A fee may apply when dropped off at Government Center. ($20) Dental Varnishing: Billable for children on MA or MinnesotaCare.
