PIPING SUPPORT STANDARD AND DETAILS 1 GENERAL 1.1 Summary 1.1.1. Scope of Specification This specification prescribes the design application, drawing presentation and fabrication details of piping supports, instrument connections and miscellaneous piping details for Infrastructure Unit. 1.1.2. Related Specifications The following Specifications prescribe items of related work: G3IR-1000-50-SP-9011: G3IR-1000-50-SP-9002: G3IR-0000-50-SP-9015: G3IR-1000-55-SP-9001: Field fabrication and process and utility piping installation-
Piping Material Specification line classprocess and utility piping Welding/ND specification for shop and field fabricated pipe Painting Protective Coating.
Coordinate Work prescribed by this specification with Work prescribed by the above listed specifications. 1.1.3. Terminology The following terms are defined as stated, unless otherwise indicated: 1. Pre- Engineered Supports: Includes all standardized, predesigned, load rated supports whose intended use encompasses multiple applications.

References The publications listed below form part of this specification. Each publication shall be the latest revision and addendum in effect on the date this specification is issued for construction unless noted otherwise. Except as modified by the requirements specified herein or the details of the drawings, Work included in this specification shall conform to the applicable provisions of these publications. A. PIPING SUPPORT STANDARD AND DETAILS B. C. 1.3 NFPA: National Fire Protection Association. IS: Indian Standard.
Quality Assurance 1.3.1. Approved department design guidelines and methods are used in compliance with project requirements. Project piping engineers and piping design supervisors monitor, review and control the design to ensure that applicable codes, practices and specifications are being followed to meet project quality goals. Quality criteria are constantly reviewed during planning activity.

1.3.3. 2 PRODUCTS 2.1
Materials 2.1.1. Piping materials shall be in accordance with Piping Engineering Specification G3IR-100050-SP-9002 unless specific materials are indicated on the standard detail drawing. Welding, weld examination, and weld heat treatment shall be in strict accordance with welding Engineering Specification G3IR-0000-50-SP-9015. Carbon steel flats, IS: 2062, may be substituted for carbon steel plate, IS-2062, without approval. Other substitutions, including thicker wall materials, are not permitted without written authorization from Fluor. Galvanized material shall not be used on lines operating above 315 degrees C.

Fabrication 2.2.1. Fabrication shall be in accordance with Piping Engineering Specification G3IR-1000-50SP-9011 Carbon steel components shall be painted/galvanized in accordance with Engineering Specification G3IR-1000-55-SP-9001. For Vendor fabricated items, the vendor shall package and tag with respective assembly tag numbers. Kwik-bolts shall be supplied by the field.

PIPING SUPPORT STANDARD AND DETAILS 3 EXECUTION 3.1 Inspection 3.1.1. Each piping support element and assembly shall be inspected for conformance to it respective contract drawing and this specification. Verify that all contact surfaces and all piping support elements and assemblies are free of all foreign matter prior to installation. Check the alignment of all piping support elements and assemblies prior to making any permanent attachments to any piping or structures.

Field Erection and Installation 3.2.1. Location Piping support elements and assemblies shall be installed at the locations shown on the piping drawings. 3.2.2. Procedure Welding performed in the installation of all piping support elements/assemblies shall be in accordance with the welding specifications referenced in Section 1.1.2 3.2.3. Concrete pad for base supports at grade 1) Concrete pad along with suitable 12mm thick CS bearing plate shall be provided for all base supports in field by piping contractor. 2) If base support load exceeds 1000 Kgs, the concrete pad along with 12mm thick CS bearing plate will be provided by civil contractor.

Inspection after Installation Piping support elements and assemblies upon completion of installation shall be inspected for proper location and alignment, hot and cold load settings, quality of installation, cleanliness, and completeness of work, painting damage, and any other damage which might have occurred during installation. Any deficiencies should be brought to the Buyer's attention in writing.

1. For maximum recommended span of Case 1 multiply maximum straight span by the factor K=0.64. 2. For maximum recommended span of Case 2 multiply maximum straight span by the factor K=0.75. 3. Any span longer than the recommended maximum must be approved by a Stress Engineer. 4. Maximum span shall be reduced if the line has concentrated load such as valves, flanges, or instruments. 5. Pipe size 300 NB and larger on the pipe rack can be spanned up to 9000mm and pipe size between 100 NB thru 250 NB spanned up to 7000mm
