Projection of solids

A pentagonal prism, side of base 25 mm and axis length 60 mm is kept on H.P. on one of its base such that one of its edge of base becomes perpendicular to V.P. Draw front view and top view of solid in this first position. Now prism is tilted in such a way that one of its base corner remains in H.P. and longer edge passing from this edge makes 300 with H.P. and remains parallel to V.P. Draw projections of solids in this second position. Again prism is tilted in such a way that top view of axis makes 450 with V.P. Draw projections of solid in this third position.

A pentagonal prism, side of base 30 mm and axis length 65 mm is kept on the V.P. on one of is base edge such that the rectangular face containing that base edge makes an angle of 300 with V.P. Draw the projections of the prism when the base edge in V.P. makes an angle of 300 with H.P.

Ex.5 A composite solid made of a half cone (cut through axis) of diameter 60 mm and half hexagonal pyramid (cut through axis) of

side 30 mm. The height of the composite solid is 60 mm. The solid is kept on H.P. on one of its base edge of hexagonal pyramid such that the triangular face containing that base edge is perpendicular to H.P. and inclined to V.P. at an angle of 450 Draw the projections of the solids when triangular face is nearer to observer.
