TenureTrackFacultyPosition DigitalGames UniversityofCalifornia,Irvine DepartmentofInformatics TheDepartmentofInformaticsattheUniversityofCalifornia,Irvineisseekingexceptional candidatesforatenuretrackpositionindigitalgames.Werecognizetheimportanceofdigital gamestosocietyandtheeconomy,andwishtocomplementourexistingareasofexcellencewith astrongpresenceingamestudiesanddesign. Thedepartmentisstronglyinterdisciplinary,withfacultybackgroundsinanthropology,computer science,engineering,humanities,mediaarts,organizationalstudies,andpsychology.This,inno smallmeasure,contributestoourstronginternationalreputationasaninnovativesiteforresearch andeducationoninformationtechnologyanditsapplications.Wewishtoaddasimilarly interdisciplinaryperspectiveondigitalgames,theirroleinsociety,andnewpossibilitiesfor innovativegamedesign. ApplicantsshouldhaveaPh.D.inarelevantfieldandexhibitacompellingresearchportfolioas wellasaclearvisionforteachingaboutgamesandgamedesign.Seniorapplicantsshouldalso demonstrateaproventrackrecordinfundedresearchactivities. Fortwoyearsinarow,UCIrvinehasbeenrankedasthebestU.S.universityunder50byTimes HigherEducation(4thoverall).Salaryandothercompensation(includingpriorityaccesstoon campusfacultyhousing)arecompetitivewiththenationsfinestpublicuniversities.
