Text: My friends family My friend name is Paul Brown. He lives in London and he is an engineer.

He has got a wife and two children. His wifes name is Mary and his childrens names are Jane and Nick. Mary is a young woman. Shes a doctor in a hospital. Mr. Browns son is a school-boy. Nick has many friends. He likes playing tennis. His daughter Jane is five and she go to a nursery school. Jane has a dog and a cat. Mr. Brown parents live in the village. His father is a farmer and his mother is a housewife. Pauls wife usually takes the children to the country in summer. Mr. Brown has parents-in-law. They are farmers and live in the country. Mr. Browns family is very friendly. Text: My Flat I have a large flat in a new house with ten floors. Our house has all modern conveniences. Our flat are four rooms in it: a dining room, a bed room, a bath room and a kitchen. In the bed room we have a bed near the window and a wardrobe near the door. There is a green carpet on the floor. The walls and curtains are white, the blinds are green. The living room is large with yellow walls, white ceiling and brown floor. There is a square table with a vase of flowers on it. There are two arm-chairs and a standard-lamp in the corner, a piano, writingtable with some books on it. In the middle of our large dining room is round table and some chairs. In the bedroom are two beds, a night table, a telephone, a wardrobe and a mirror. The study is large with a writing-table, a sofa and a bookcase. The kitchen is not very large. There are a cupboard, a table, some stools, a sink and a fridge. Text: Yesterday in the afternoon Yesterday afternoon all of my family was in town. I stayed at home and I do my homework for the English class. I read the lesson, copied the texts, did all the exercises, repeated the vocabulary. I wrote a short composition and I translated a difficult text from Romanian into English. I was very glad because I could do the exercises. I was finishing my homework when my family came home. Text: A PLEASANT TRIP Next summer some friends will be going on a trip to Warsaw and Budapest. They will be travelling by air to Warsaw and by coach to some other places in Poland. From Warsaw they will be travelling by train to Budapest and back by boat. In two weeks they will be visiting museums, art gallaries, cathedrals, churches, old castles and plenty of interesting places. We shall not be able to join our friends because in this time We shall be in the Danube Delta. Next year, we may be going to Berlin and other German cities with some of our friends. Text: Shopping (Cumparaturi) Usually, ich Friday I go to the market and buy food for the next week. I make a list of what I need to buy and then I drive to the market. I go to the butchers and to the fishmongers when I need some fresh meat or fish. I buy bread when the baker tells me if it is fresh. I also need to buy some vegetables and fruit, some cakes for lunch, some milk and mineral water.
