Page |4 SIM-U-KRAFT INTRODUCTION Sim-U-Kraft is a `mod' (Modification) or Add-on for the hit indie game Minecraft. It extends and changes the Single player game play a little by adding aspects of `Si m city' and `The Sims' to the regular Minecraft game play. Start a new or an existing map and Sim-U-Folks will wander into town. You can employ them to work for you. As you start off with only 10.00 Sim-U-Credits, the first thing to do would be to employ a SimU-Folk to build a house. They will then move in and start paying you rent each day. You can then use this money to employ more Sim-U-Folks to build up a huge city. You'll need materials to build your city, so mark out an area with Sim-U-Marker posts, place a mining-box down and employ a miner to dig up tons o f materials. You may also need to employ a lumberjack for the wood-based buildin gs. With all this building, lumberjacking and mining, the Sim-u-folks get hungry , so employ a farmer and a baker to make bread for their hungry mouths or they'll starve to death! If playing in non-peaceful mode, you wouldn't want a creeper to b low up your folk's houses, so build a barracks and train up a few soldiers to patr ol the town to slay those creepers. The Sim-U-Folks may like each other so much, they'll move in together, and (in a later version) have a few kiddies too. So if you want a little help in single player building a small town, or want to make a huge thriving metropolis, Sim-U-Kraft is here to help you. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

Page |5 DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL SPECIAL NOTE: The Sim-U-Kraft Mod uses and needs Modloader to run. Visit the Min ecraft Forums to download Modloader for Minecraft 1.2.4. Without Modloader, SimU-Kraft will NOT work. To begin, you need to download the latest version of the mod. For this Third Edition of the Manual, the latest version is Sim-U-Kraft 0.5 .1. This version of Sim-U-Kraft works with Minecraft version 1.2.4. To download the Sim-U-Kraft mod, go to this website: http://www.satscape.info/home/?q=minecr aft. You will see the download link about halfway down the page. It is a .zip file , which means that it contains more than one file and is compressed. You will ne ed a type of unzipping program to extract, or uncompress the files. The easiest on e to use is WinRAR. WinRAR will be the program used for the instructions and exa mples. OPENING THE ZIP FILE The easiest way to work with this mod is to download it straight to your Desktop . From there, just double-click the .zip file. This will open a window in WinRAR like the one above. You will notice three things inside the window; A folder wi th , another folder called Simukraft, and another zipped file called Sim-U-Kraft-0.5.1 .zip. The folder is not really a folder. It is just a link go back to the previous p age. The other two are the actual files in the zip. The fastest and easiest way t o extract a zip file is to just click the Extract To button in the top left corner . Another small window will open up waiting for you to choose a location. The de fault location WinRAR will extract is always the same place the original zip fil e was opened. In this case, it is your Desktop. Just click on OK and allow the pro gram to do the work. Once extracted, it creates a folder on your Desktop. Open t his folder to get to the Mod's files. The two files inside this folder are all you need to install Sim-U-Kraft. The next step is to navigate to your Minecraft pro gram folder and place those two files inside. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

These Markers are also used to copy a building that you built. Solar Panel This little block does not have a specific use at this time. However, it can be placed on a building to stop all rainfall. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

Page |8 GETTING STARTED You should have your first Sim-U U-Folk wander in fairly quickly. Your new Sim-U -Folk people have basic needs. These needs cost you Credits. You get more Credits when the Sim-U-Folks move in a home Folks and pay rent every morning. So, your f irst step is to have your new Sim-U-Folk person build themselves a Sim Folk home . Once a home is built, your current Sim Sim-U-Folk will move in to the home, an d then another person will , wander in. And the cycle repeats itself. So let's get building. CONSTRUCTOR BLOCKS A AND BUILDERS You'll need to craft a building constr constructor block, this block will allow yo u to choose the position and rotation of a building, choose which building you'd l ike and employ someone to build it for you. To craft a Sim-U-Kraft Constructor B lock you'll need planks, stone and a crafting table. Here's the recipe: afting http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

Page |9 Where you place the Constructor is all-important and where you stand when you op erate it is equally so. Place it down where you'd like the front-left corner of th e building to be built. The space directly behind the Constructor is where the f irst block of the building will be placed and become the front-left corner of it , so when operating (right-click) the box, face the direction of where the build ing should be. First you need to right-click the Constructor. Then click on the H ire worker button to employ a Sim-U-Folk. Then click Choose building. There are 4 c ategories: Residential - Houses for your Sim-U-Folks to live in, different sizes and shapes to choose from. Commercial - Shops such as the Bakery to feed your h ungry Sim-U-Folks. Industrial - Workplaces such as the Lumbermill. Other - Vario us other structures to decorate your town, including your own copied designs (se e Sim-U-Markers) Once you've chosen a building, the builder may have already arriv ed on the building site or be on their way. While you wait, you will need to pla ce a chest to the left or right of the Constructor block. (Not behind it, as tha t is where the building will go!). You'll then need to fill the chest with the app ropriate building blocks. If you're not sure what will be needed, wait for the bui lder to arrive and they will tell you want they need. You won't need to supply ALL the blocks. Torches and several other blocks will be provided by the builder th emselves. A simple small house will need planks, glass and wool. The torch and l ightbox (see Lightbox Block) will be provided by the builder. Fill up the chest with some or all the materials needed. Any leftover building supplies can be col lected after the construction. If all is well, the builder will build the buildi ng and let you know when it's complete. At which point, you can remove the Constru ctor block and chest. If the building is a residence, you will notice a control b lock, usually on the front, left bottom corner of the building. DO NOT remove thi s block. This block is needed for a Sim-U-Folk to live in the house. Right-click ing on it will give you information about the building; it also allows you to se e your employees, what they're up to and fire them if you want. CONSTRUCTOR BLOCK MENU When you first right-click on the Constructor Block, you see a menu which has ma ny options. The menu looks like this: http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 10 Here are descriptions of what each button inside the Constructor Block does: Done Closes the Building Constructor window and goes back to game play. Hire Worker All ows you to choose which Sim-U-Folk you want to have build. Choose building Takes y ou to another window to choose the type of building you wish to build. (You must have a hired worker before you can choose this option.) Fire worker Allows you to fire the worker you have using this Constructor Block. (You must have a hired w orker before you can choose this option.) Show Employees Allows you to view every Sim-U-Folk that is working for you. You can see what they are doing and fire the m if you want. Building manager This button is your access to the Online Store. (S ee Sim-U-Kraft Online Store) You can also edit your building names. Here is a sc reenshot of the Residential Building menu: From here, you can see the name of the building, its size, the cost to build, an d who made it (If downloaded from the Sim-U-Kraft Online Store). This gives you an idea how big a space you need to build in and if you have enough Credits to b uild it. The Page buttons at the bottom allow you to browse through the pages. A nd, the Done button at the top allows you to exit back to game play. After your Si m-U-Folk works a while, they begin to get hungry. If they do not eat, they will starve to death- so you need to feed them. One way is to have a Bakery and a Bak er to sell bread to Sim-U-Folks. In order to make the bread, the Baker needs to get wheat from a Farmer. So, let's see how to create a Sim-UFarm. In order to make a Farm, we must first learn about Sim-U-Markers as they are used to plot your far m's area. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 11 SIM-U-MARKERS Sim-U-Markers are used for MANY things in Sim-U-Kraft; mining, farming, lumberja cking, and copying your own buildings to share with your fellow minecrafters. (S ee Sim-U-Kraft Online Store) To craft a set of three markers, you will need a st ick and yellow dye. Here is the recipe: You will only ever really need 3 markers, as they are totally re-usable. Normall y, they are used in conjunction with a mining box, farming box, etc (see later s ections), but they are also used on their own to do a `photocopy' of a building you've made so that your builders can build it elsewhere. You can also share theses ph otocopies with others so they can get their Sim-U-Folks to build it in their wor ld too. Placing the markers needs to be done carefully to make sure it all works . So, here's an example: say you've built a simple house. To copy your house, first place a marker (known as the primary marker) at the front-left corner of the build ing. Next, place the second marker at the front-right corner of the buildingand it must be level with the primary marker! Finally, place the third marker at the back-left corner, again parallel and level with the primary marker. All markers must be on the same level and placed in that order for it to work. (Please see Image 1 on the next page for placement.) One other thing to note: if your house has an overhanging roof or porch, you'll need to place the markers out a little wa y to include them. Once you've place them correctly, go back to the primary marker and right-click. Click the Copy structure/building button to make a copy of the b uilding which will be saved into the `other' buildings category. The top of the buil ding is worked out based on when there are only air blocks (nothing), so, ensure that if you are copying a building that is underground that you have a `layer' of a ir above the roof, otherwise the rock and earth will be copied too! http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 12 Ensure that all of the markers are lined up with the air around the building and NOT the walls. with There is no limit on the size of the building or structure you can copy. However, it can be difficult to place lding markers that MUST be l evel with each other, if you cannot see the other markers. Also, there is no hei ght restrictions- but if your building is 128 blocks high, it won't be able to be re-built elsewhere unless you re built build it down at bedrock level too. Marke rs are used for mining, farming and lumber ing, lumber-jacking. The placement is identical to the above, he except for lumber-jacking. For that, you only need o ne marker which marks the center spot of where the lumberjack will start choppin g. This allows you to control which trees get cut down. See the Lumberjack . ch section for more details. Image 1 (Sim-U-Marker Placement) http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 13 FARMING BOX AND FARM FARMERS To hire a farmer, you'll need to craft a Farming box and 3 Sim-U-Markers. (See Sim Sim-U-Markers section) The recipe for the Farming box is: Start by placing the 3 markers on the surface of the area you want to farm. Reme mber to place the primary (front-left) marker first, then front left) front-righ t, and finally back-left. They must all be lined up and at the left. same level with each other. Now go back to the primary marker and face the area you just ma rked. Place the Farming box directly in front of the primary marker Next, rightclick the Farming box and hire a arming marker. arming farmer. To the left or ri ght of the Farming box, place a chest; this is where the harvested food will be arming dropped. If it gets full, the farmer will stop work. Once this is done, y ou can remove the markers for re-use e elsewhere. Only one farmer per farm is al lowed, and they only work during the day. They will hang around the farm during their shift to harvest, hoe the ground and sew new seeds. They'll get paid as they work based ground, on how much work they have done. So, if you have very large farm, watch your bank balance! The harvested food will stay in the chest. You wi ll then need to build a B Bakery and hire a Baker ( aker (See next section) With Sim-U-Kraft v0.5.0, there are now three types of farms: Wheat, Melon, and Pumpk in. The use Kraft for the Wheat farm is described in the next section: Bakers An d Bakery. The use for the Melon and Pumpkin sec ion: farms are described just af ter in the Grocer and Grocery Store section. St http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 14 BAKERS AND THE BAKERY In order to use the wheat from the Farm to bake bread to feed your hungry Sim-UFolk, you need to hire a Baker. To do this, you'll first need to hire Sim-U-Folk t o build a bakery. You'll find that under the `commercial' group of buildings in the Co nstructor. To build the Bakery, you'll need cobblestone, wood and glass in the bui lder's chest. Unlike houses, the control panel for the bakery is inside. Right-cli cking on that will allow you to hire a baker. First thing each morning, the Bake r will visit each farm you have and collect the wheat. They'll bring it back to th e bakery and start making bread out of it (3 wheat makes 1 bread). They'll spend t he rest of the day selling bread to the Sim-U-Folks. You can help yourself to th e bread too, but be warned: if the Bakery runs out of bread, your Sim-U-Folks wi ll get hungry and could die of starvation (which is bad for their health). You c an go several game days before you need to build a bakery, but as you get more a nd more SimU-Folks living in your town, they'll need more bread to eat. So you wil l need to add more farms to cope with the demand. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 15 GROCERS AND GROCERY STORE A brand new addition to the Commercial Buildings is the Grocery Store. Sim-U-Fol ks cannot live on bread alone! This store works much like the Bakery. Once built , you right-click on the Control Panel found behind the counter and hire a Groce r. They will arrive and begin work. They first go to all the Melon and Pumpkin F arms in your city and gather all the harvested fresh food. Then they bring it ba ck to the Grocery Store and begin selling it to the Folks. At the end of the day , they will get paid for their shift. BUILDING SUPPLIES All of this building your Sim-U-Folks does uses up many building supplies. It ta kes a while to harvest and mine all the supplies needed. And, unless you are usi ng another mod to get these supplies, you will need help harvesting and mining f or more. There are now three Sim-U-Folks that can help you. They are the Shepher d, the Miner, and the Lumberjack. We will look at them next. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 16 SHEPHERDS AND SHEEP FARM Are you getting lost or bored trying to find enough sheep to use the wool in ord er to build your buildings? Well, search no more! Another new addition to Sim-UKraft is the Shepherd and their Sheep Farm. Found under the Industrial Buildings in the Constructor, the Sheep Farm will bring a Shepherd and some colorful Shee p to your town! Just build, then right-click on the Control Panel to hire a Shep herd. The Shepherd will stay with the Sheep throughout the day, shearing the She ep and watching them. They will place all the wool inside the two chests beside the Control Panel. MINING BOX AND MINERS To hire a miner, you'll need to craft a Mining box and 3 Sim-U-Markers, if you do not already have them. (See Sim-U-Markers section) The recipe for the Mining box is: http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 17 Start by placing the 3 markers on the surface of the area you want to mine. Reme mber to place the . primary (front-left) marker first, then front left) front-ri ght, and finally back-left. They must all be lined up and at the left. same leve l with each other. Now go back to the primary marker and face the area you just marked. Place th the Mining box directly in front of the primary marker Next, ri ght-click the Mining box and hire a miner. To marker. the left or right of the M ining box, place a chest; this is where the materials will be dropped. If you're k eeping all blocks, keep an eye on this because if it gets full, the Miner will s top work. Once this is done, you i can remove the markers for re-use elsewhere. use When you right-click on the Mining box, you'll also see a three-way toggle rig ht ou'll three button that works like this: ton All blocks Will keep every block t hat is mined Discard dirt blocks Grass and dirt will be discarded rass Discard d irt and cobblestone If you have lots of cobblestone already, choose this option to just keep the good stuff (diamonds, coal, iron, redstone etc) and discard eve rything else. As the mine gets below about 3 meters, the Miner will automatically t , place a glass cover over it to stop folks from falling down the mine. Also, the olks Min er will not be able to jump down to the mine bottom. So a Sim-U-Matter iner t S tr ansporter beam will beam him or her to down the mine and back up again at the en d of their shift (when it gets dark). The Miner will mine right down until they reach bedrock at which point they retire. Also, if iner they reach water or lava they may die, so that may also be a good time to close the mine. Or you can go in and block the water or lava source. As it's covered over with glass you can go ahead and build over the top of it too! Only one Miner will mine at a time, and they only work during the day. The Miner is paid as they iner work, based on the amount of blocks they've mined. mined http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 18 LUMBERMILL AND LUMBERJACKS A lot of the buildings your Builders will be constructing contain lots of wood, so you'll need a good supply of wood. Let the Sim-U-Folks take care of that for yo u! Just hire a builder to build a Lumbermill. (You can find it under the `Industri al' selection of buildings in the Constructor) The control panel is located inside . Here you'll be able to hire and fire Lumberjacks. Once employed, they'll cut down all the trees in a 30 meter radius of the Lumbermill. You can plant saplings so you have an endless supply, but you can also start de-foresting other areas from the same lumber mill using a marker post. Simply go to the center of the forest you want them to cut down and place a single Sim-U-Marker. Now go back to the L umbermill and you'll see an extra button appear on the control panel screen labele d Lumber area (bottom-right). If you don't see it, remove the marker and place it ag ain. Clicking this button sets the new center for this lumber mill. The new 30 m eter radius will be cleared and then you'll need to set a new marker post and so o n until you've killed all the trees! The harvested wood will be placed into one of the two chests inside the lumber mill. As with the other jobs, if the location of the work is over 50 meters away, the Lumberjack will be beamed out to the locat ion and back when they're done. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 19 COURIERS AND DEPOT OK, now you have all these farms, mines, and stores. They are filling up their c hests quickly. You also have a couple Sim-U-Folks building. Wouldn't it be nice if you had one Sim-U-Folk to pick up all these supplies and take them to the build ing sites or maybe just a storage building? Well, now there is! The Courier work s at the squeaky clean Depot Building. Found in the Industrial section of the Co nstructor, the Depot is the answer to your storage problems! You can hire a Cour ier and have them pick up items from anywhere and take them to other locationsor even to the Depot for storage! Once you hire a Courier, there are some steps to do in order to have them pick up and drop off supplies. The first step is to create Points. Choose the button Tasks beside the Courier you wish to use. To add a task, click Add in the bottom-left corner. Choose a Pick-Up Point. Then choose a D rop-off Point. To add more tasks, repeat steps 3 5. When finished, click Done in t he top-left corner until you are back to the game. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 20 You can always delete tasks from the Tasks screen. Also, you can fire a Courier fr om the Depot Control Panel- or fire ANY employee from the Show Employees button fr om ANY Control Panel. BARRACKS AND SOLDIERS If you're not playing in Peaceful mode, the wandering creepers, spiders, zombies, an d more could harm and even kill your Sim-U-Folks. Nobody wants innocent Sim-U-Fo lks dying. (See next section for details) http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 23 SIM-U-KRAFT ONLINE STORE An extraordinary new feature added in Sim-U-Kraft v0.3.0 is the Sim-U-Kraft Onli ne Store. This feature makes this mod interactive as it allows players to share buildings they have created and copied! You will see the screen above when you f irst enter the store. The two types of buildings that can be shared are Residenti al and Other. Commercial and Industrial buildings are reserved for the mod creator for use with game play. The Residential buildings are structures in which the Si m-U-Folks can live. Any other type of building will be in Other. Let's say you want to find a home for your new Sim-U-Folk that just wandered in. When you click the Residential button, you will see the following screen: http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 25 SUK ONLINE STORE CATALOG We all have thought it. While browsing the Sim-U-Kraft Online Store, you see a b uilding that sounds good. But you think, I wish I could just see what this looks like. Browsing the Store just got better! Because now you can! You can read more information about each Building/Structure. You can see an image of each building . And, something new- You can see the Rating for each Building/Structure! The SU K Online Store Catalog is divided into three sections, based on the building typ e. There are the Built-in Buildings/Structures that come within the Mod. There a re Residential Buildings. And last there are the Other Buildings/Structures. All Buildings/Structures are listed in order by their Entry Number. Follow these li nks to begin your Browsing! SUK Built-in Buildings/Structures Residential Buildings Other Buildings/Structur es Also, check out the next section to read more about the New Rating System! Happy Browsing!! NEW RATING SYSTEM Since we see so many other Mods and websites use rating or grading systems, Sats cape has decided to use a Star Rating System for the SUK Buildings/Structures. B uildings/Structures are rated according to four factors: Size, Cost, Creativity, and Materials. Please remember, this new Rating System is only for FUN. It is i n no way intended to offend any player in any way. If your building received a l ow rating, please do not allow it to cause you to stop submitting. This is only for fun. It is very possible for a building with a low rating to become the most downloaded and popular building! Your submissions are greatly appreciated! Please send more! We all know that smaller buildings are supposed to be small so should not lose p oints because of their size. And also huge buildings will use a lot of materials so should not lose points because of this. So, in order to develop a fair and i ndifferent system to rate buildings- it was determined that each Building/Struct ure should be Ranked first. These new Ranks are determined by the biggest number in the dimensions. There are four Ranks for a Building/Structure: Small, Medium, Larg e, and Huge. Each rank has different Values that determine points. For each Value, there are 5 possible points to earn. That means 20 possible points in total for each Building/Structure. The total Points earned is then divided by 4 to get th e Star Rating. The Values for each Rank were determined based on averages of all Buildings/Structures submitted at the time of development. The Values for each Rank are shown in the table below: http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 26 Determining Rank Rank: Small Medium Large Values: Min Max Min Max Min Max Factor s Size 3x 7x 8x 12x 13x 25x Huge Min Max 26x 45x + Based on highest number in Dimensions Cost 0.00 2.76 + 0.00 7.26 + 0.00 39.01 + 0.00 100.01 + Credit price to build Creativity Materials Needed 1 0 8+ 161 + 1 0 15 + 641 + 1 0 15 + 897 + 1 0 16 + 9601 + The number of different blocks/items used The total number of materials player h as to place in chest It is hoped that you will find this new Rating System fun and entertaining. The idea is to create a building that costs less, without having to place much into the Chest, with many different block types, and fits within the size range of it s Rank. If you would like to see a Scoring Sheet which will detail how your Buildi ng/Structure was rated, you can send an email to suk_editor@gmx.com. Be sure to include the name of the Building/Structure, the name you used to submit it, and the Entry #. You will receive a Scoring Sheet for your Building/Structure within a f ew days. Be sure to check your Spam folder in case it goes in there. Good Luck and Happy Building!! http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 27 SIM-U-KRAFT FAQ This section is devoted to the most asked questions/concerns received through em ail and the Forum. Please check here for an answer to a question or problem you have before asking. Q: Where do I download your mod? A: About half-way down the page at this website : http://www.satscape.info/home/?q=minecraft Q: How do I install the Sim-U-Kraft mod? A: Please see the Installing The Mod sect ion of this manual. Q: I do not hear the woman say Welcome to Sim-U-Kraft when I start a map. OR Q: I do not see the words in the upper-left corner of my screen. A: The mod is not in stalled properly. Navigate to your .minecraft folder as described in the Installing The Mod section. Go into the mods folder. In there, you should see a folder called Simukraft and a .zip file named Sim-U-Kraft-0.3.0.zip. If you do not see them, plea se reinstall the mod by following the directions in the Installing The Mod section . Q: Is there a way I can find out how many of each resource each of the different buildings uses? A: No, currently it doesnt tell you how many of each block you need, but I think its something that would be helpful, so may add that. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 28 Q: How do I build the higher stories to the apartments? A: Its a bit tricky doi ng apartment blocks. The two tricks to keep in mind is to make sure the Construc tor is placed directly above the first-but at the starting level of the next sto ry. It helps to put some dirt blocks to help place the constructor box and chest (like scaffolding). The second trick is to make sure you are facing the exact s ame location as you did for the previous story. If you do this, everything shoul d line up fine. Q: I hired a worker and he started building the house, but he built over and rep laced the chest. What happened? A: If you put the chest to the left or right of the constructor box, this should not happen. For an example, check out the video tutorials on Building in the References section. It's all about where you stand w hen you select a building to build. Q: Will this mod work in multi-player? A: Ive seen a few requests for multiplay er compatibility. I dont think thats an option just yet. Because spawning 30+ Sim-U-Folks and multiple players as well may just kill Minecraft with crashes. S o, I am going to get the single player game stable first. Q: Why do torches and ladders fall off or steps and signs place wrong when build ing? A: Items like doors, beds, steps, signs, ladders, and torches are considere d directional. This means that it is important which direction you are facing when placing them. The image captured by the Sim-UMarkers when copying the building is the same that is used to rebuild that building. Unfortunately, if you capture a building that is North to South and then you re-build it East to West, thats w hen these directional items get placed wrong. This is a Minecraft game play glit ch. I may be able to fix that, but I am not sure. Until then, just replace the i tems. We can't let the Sim-U-Folks do all the work, right? Q: When I left the game, the Miner was mining. When I returned, he was at home. Is this normal? A: Yes. This is normal. Just give it a minute. When you start th e game, the Sim-U-Folks will spawn next to their houses (if they have one) and t hen about a minute later theyll go to their job (if they have one). http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 29 Q: I have other mods that add new blocks and ores to the game. Will the Miner mi ne these non-vanilla items, or will they just leave them there? A: They will min e any type of block- vanilla or mod-based- until they reach bedrock, at which po int they retire. If you have the three-way toggle (in the Mining box GUI) set to "discard dirt and stone", all mod-based ores will be kept and placed into the c hest. This mod seems to play well with other mods. Q: How does rent work? It is based on per house or per person? A: Rent is based on the building cost. The rent for a building is HALF the credits it costed to b uild that building. If a house cost 6.50 credits to build, then the rent for tha t house would be 3.25 credits per day. This is handy for the larger houses and c astles. Q: A creeper blew up part of my house! How to I fix it? A: For a building with a Control Panel, it's easy. Just right-click on the building's Control Panel and clic k Repair. Buildings without a Control Panel will have to be fixed manually. Q: How big should my farm be? How much farm land will I need per person? How oft en do Sim-U-Folks need to eat? A: Sim-U-Folks consume a random amount of bread p er day, up to the amount of population. So, if you have 40 folks, they MAY consu me up to 40 loafs a day (which is 120 wheat). The farmer will harvest only the r ipe wheat and leave the rest to grow, so that amount will vary too. Harvested bl ocks will be re-seeded. It is best to add more Farms as you city grows. This sho uld handle the demands nicely. Q: My credits are really low. Is there a way that I can edit how many credits I have? A: Players cannot edit the credits. However, you can reset them by going t o the saves folder inside the .minecraft folder. Then, go to your world's folder. Inside the Simukraft folder, locate and delete the "credits.suk" file. When you re start your map, the credits will reset to 10.00 credits. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 30 Q: I just made a nice small house. But none of my Sim-U-Folks will move in it. H ow do I get a Sim-U-Folk to live in it? Can I just use TMI to place a Control Pa nel in it? Will that work? A: Use caution when placing a Control Panel with TMI, or other mods. This action could cause glitches or problems in game play. It is safest to copy your home with the Sim-U-Markers, and then exit Minecraft. Navig ate to your .minecraft folder by following the directions in the Installing The Mod section. Inside the mods folder, you will see a folder called Simukraft. In there, a nother folder called buildings contains all the building plans. Locate the building you just made and copied and open the .txt file. From here, you can use the spec ial character $ to place a control panel in your home. Please see the References s ection for a link to a video tutorial. Once you edit the file, save and close. Y ou can restart Minecraft and have a Sim-U-Folk build your home with a Control Pa nel. Q: I have looked everywhere. Where can I find the recipe to craft the Control Pa nel? A: There is no recipe for the Control Panel. I did not make the Control Pan el craftable as this block was not intended to be used by players. If you wish t o place one in a building, please see the References section for a link to a vid eo tutorial showing how to add this block to your building. Q: My Sim-U-Folk just built a home and none of them are moving in it. The house has a Control Panel. But when I rightclick on it, it tells me the building type is other. What does this mean? A: The building type of any building is based on what folder the plan is in. Just go into the Simukraft folder in the .minecraft > mods folder and move the .txt file of your house to residential. This will tell the mod that the plan is now a livabl e home. Q: My Builder is building a small 1x1x3 tower instead of the house I chose. The blocks appear and then disappear as soon as he moves on to the next. I dont kno w what Im doing wrong. OR Q: I built and copied a new type of Apartment block, but the only thing that got built was two dirt blocks (which were nowhere in the copy blocks). I checked out the .txt file. Its very small and mostly A/Air. I ve tried to copy/paste the same building twice, with the same result. A: When yo u right-click on the Constructor box to build, the mod works out where you want the building to appear based on where youre standing. In other words, it take a picture of what you see and starts building there. Always make sure you're standing d irectly behind the box. If youre slightly diagonal to it, it gets confused at t he picture it sees and does not know what to do. Please see the References section for video tutorials building. http://www.satscape.info *Examples and instructions are for a Windows Operating System*

P a g e | 31 Q: I am trying to submit a building that I built. But, when I click on Submit you r own in the Sim-U-Kraft Online Store, a web page does not open. How can I submit the building manually? A: I am currently working on that issue. Until I resolve this issue, you can submit your buildings by going to the following website: ht tp://www.satscape.info/java/simukraft/php/upload.html. MORE QUESTIONS WILL BE ADDED LATER. SIM-U-KRAFT REFERENCES This section contains useful links to resources and video tutorials.
