There are many new social media channels that emerge every w eek. Some are a complete and total flop w hile others seem to have that special allure that piques the everyday Internet users interest. TheFancy.com is one of those new channels that really stood out. The Fancy w orks a lot like Pinterest and for those w ho dont use Pinterest or know much about, here is Pintertest in a nutshell: Users create an account that is basically a virtual corkboard. You can have multiple boards that categorize the different things you pin on them such as one board for Food and another for Fashion. When you first login (after you have created your account/set up the boards) Users are presented with a never ending stream of different things they can pin to their various boards they have created. Other users can follow your account, comment/like the pins on your boards, and re-pin things that others have pinned. The Fancy is very similar except that you can buy anything you find or pin. Pinterest w ith a business model. To give you a visual I took a screen shot of my ow n personal Fancy account (yes I know that is Darth Vader from Star Wars, I have an unhealthy obsession w ith the series).

As you can see, instead of Boards you have Lists w hich is the same concept with a different name. There is everything from art to cool gadgets to Travel destinations that you can book RIGHT on the site. The site has a predominately male demographic, as opposed to Pinterest, w ith less concentration on kittens and dresses (no offense but it is true). Just like Pinterest, The Fancy is in its infant stages but I will be looking forward to seeing how w ell the company does in the future. In the meantime I leave you with one of my most recent fancyed items and yes it has to do w ith Star Wars: A Millenium Falcon Ice Cube Tray
