Eligibility: 1) Second upper class & above or equivalent. 2) Proven academic and professional merit. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate financial need. 3) Candidates are not recipients of other scholarships or have any other source of education sponsorship (this excludes loans and drawings against EPF). 4) Candidates may also be invited for an interview (in person, by video or by telephone) by the Scholarship Committee. 5) A written reference from your academic supervisor/ manager / employer. Students are welcome to provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the time you will be undertaking your studies (details of income set against all expenditures). Explain how you expect to finance your studies if you do not obtain this scholarship. You can provide; or you may be asked to provide evidence to support any points where relevant.

Terms and Conditions of Scholarship 1. Registration fee of RM500 remains a fee to be paid by the student on application prior to scholarship application. This will ensure only genuine applications are considered. 2. The RM 500 is excluded from consideration in any part of the scholarship value. 3. All scholarship applicants must obtain at least a second upper class degree or equivalent and satisfy the English requirement. 4. If students are currently holding any scholarship/grant/financial assistance, they are not eligible to apply for this scholarship (Excluding EPF withdrawals or loans based assistance). 5. The scholarship is non-transferable, non-convertible to cash and nonredeemable for cash. 6. The scholarships awarded are in the form of partial tuition fee waiver. The scholarship excludes all other charges or costs such as registration fee, lab fee, international student charges etc which shall be borne by the student (If applicable). 7. The value of the scholarship will be deducted from the last remaining courses. 8. A scholarship committee chaired by the Head of School with the Academic Registrar and another member of staff will decide on the recipient of the scholarships. 9. Any appeals are to be addressed to the Provost & Chief Executive Officer complete with any supporting documents, where necessary. The decision of the Board of Appeals, chaired by the Provost & CEO will be final. 10. The recipient shall be a student ambassador and promote the good name of the University. In addition, the recipient is required to set exemplary behaviour and to contribute actively in student activities and any marketing/recruitment activities. 11. A scholarship recipient is expected to pass all courses registered for on the first opportunity. A student who does not pass a course will be required to submit an explanation with any documentary proof of extenuating circumstances in writing to the Head of School, stating reasons why their scholarship should not be withdrawn. 12. HWUM reserves the right to revoke the scholarship offered to students. In such circumstance, the full tuition fees will be payable by the student.

13. In the event that a student decides to discontinue his/her studies, the scholarship will be forfeited and the recipient is required to reimburse the amount awarded during his/her period of studies. 14. The scholarship committee reserves the right to offer scholarships to applicants facing hardship or where it is felt that it is necessary, given extenuating circumstances of the applicant.
