Release version 3.17.

Version 4.0 Adds information on an update to 3DxSoftware v. 3.17. Note: 3DxWare 10 for OS X information in this document is outdated. 3DxWare 10 for OS X and Windows is tracked in a separate document as of Oct 1, 2013. Version 3.0 Adds information on updates to OS X and Windows software. Version 2.2 Minor typo correction in section 3.1. Version 2.1 Corrects references to the On-Screen Display feature of the SpaceMouse Pro. Windows Software
Description

The 3DxSoftware package includes most of the 3Dconnexion Windows software available from 3Dconnexion. Four editions of the software and respective installation packages are available for redistribution: 3DxSoftware32: includes all x86 (32-bit) Windows driver and plug-in software for all currently supported 3D except SpacePilot Pro. This package installs the 3DxSoftware 32-bit Edition; 3DxSoftware64: includes all x64 (64-bit) Windows driver and plug-in software for all currently supported 3D mice except SpacePilot Pro. This package installs the 3DxSoftware x64 Edition; 3DxSoftware32SPP: includes all x86 (32-bit) Windows driver (3D mouse and LCD module) and plug-in software for the SpacePilot Pro. This package installs the 3DxSoftware SpacePilot Pro 32-bit Edition; 3DxSoftware64SPP: includes all x64 (64-bit) Windows driver (3D mouse and LCD module) and plug-in software for SpacePilot Pro. This package installs the 3DxSoftware SpacePilot Pro x64 Edition.

Supported 3D mice products: SpaceExplorer USB SpaceMouse Pro SpaceMouse Wireless SpaceNavigator SpaceNavigator for Notebooks SpacePilot Pro Note 1: Serial devices are not supported since 3DxSoftware v. 3.0 and newer. Note 2: USB legacy devices SpaceMouse Plus/Plus XT USB, SpaceBall 5000 USB and SpaceTraveler are not supported in 3DxSoftware v. 3.8 and newer. Note 3: Original SpacePilot device type not officially supported in software published after March 2013.

Changes to 3DxSoftware

Below is a breakdown of the changes implemented in this 3DxSoftware version. These changes are listed under the individual components that make up the 3DxSoftware suite. If an application is not listed here, it does not mean that the application does not include support for 3D mice, as many applications are supported natively by the software vendor. However, if an application supports 3D mice, you will still need to download and install 3DxSoftware in order to install the hardware driver (3DxWare).

3DxWare 10 for OS X is distributed as a single disk image file (.dmg) with the following file name format: 3DxWareMac_vX-Y-Z_r0000, where "X-Y-Z" is the version number and r0000 the revision number. As an example, the package for release version 10.0.11 had "3DxWareMac_v10-0-11_r1537.dmg" as file name.

3DxWare 10 version 10.0.11 is the first official release of the new driver and plug-in software for Apple OS X systems. Version 10.0.13 (r1572; July 17, 2013). Second public release. Change: Correct 3DxSketchUp extension creation during application launch. Version 10.0.12 (1564; July 8, 2013). Fix: Fix: Do not start redundant driver helper program. Version 10.0.11 (r1537; June 3, 2013). First public release. During the development of 3DxWare 10, several improvements made been made since 3DxWareMac version 1.7.2:

Users can now plug in more than one 3D mouse on the same system. Driver preferences are specific to each device type. New: Complete SpaceMouse Pro support. The On-Screen Display for the SpaceMouse Pro (SMPro) feature has been added. The On-Screen Display is a panel that opens on a long button-press action on SMPro buttons 1 to 4. The panel allows users to quickly check the SMPro button assignments. New: 3D Mouse Home. 3D Mouse Home panel is opened when the user logs in. It provides a starting point to access all 3D mouse features: Viewer, Collage and Puzzle demos; Trainer program; user manual; open 3Dconnexion preferences; links to the 3Dconnexion on-line registration page. New: Virtual NumPad. The Virtual NumPad is a numeric panel to facilitate number entering. New: Full Mountain Lion support. 3DxWare 10 adds full support for the new Gatekeeper security feature of OS X. Description

3DxWareUNIX is the driver software (user-mode) for UNIX and Linux operating systems. Five redistributable packages are available for redistribution and each includes the driver executable and an installation script.
