Speaker Script With the next version of SharePoint weve simplified how people interact with SharePoint in a number of ways. We want to make SharePoint the place everyone goes to share ideas, work together on documents and project tasks and stay in sync with whats going on across your team and your organization. Ill start in my Newsfeed, a great example of how SharePoint 2013 helps me share ideas better than ever. SharePoint is more than just isolated social features based on consumer technologies. In my day, I need to author documents, go to meetings, run projects, and respond to email. With SharePoint and Office 2013, social binds all of these experiences to provide me with the right information, at the right time, and in the right context so I can get work done. I can post messages here, see messages from the people Im following, and so on. Integrated presence here is really nice, too. Alex is working on a document that Im involved in as well. Ill like his post and reply real quick with a @Mention, and Ill tag it so anyone following this tag will see it as well. Ill link to this deck Im working on so Alex can do a better job on his document when I link to it, I get this great visual experience, plus this Web app preview window. Here are all the things Im following. Here are a number of documents Im following that I just clicked Follow on as I encounter these across various sites, and SharePoint 2013 uses some pretty sophisticated 1. Speaker Script methods to recommend more documents to me. Let me follow one now. Here are the sites Im following. This is actually a really useful hub for me. In my SkyDrive, I manage all the documents Im working on that arent officially in team sites. From a user experience point of view, I can actually just drag and drop documents right in the browser, which makes it much more natural for me to use SharePoint instead of keeping everything on my desktop. I want to open this strategy document in the browser and see what Alex has been doing. Web app edit mode is really nice in SharePoint 2013, and it even supports coauthoring. With Skydrive, sharing content is easier than ever. No more confusing permissions pages to navigate through. I just click the Share icon and type in a name or a group name and invite them. Its that simple. And if I want to share with someone outside of Office 365, I can type an external email address, then uncheck Require sign-in. SharePoint will generate an obscured link straight to the document. Weve made some improvements to the document, so Ill post this really quick to my Newsfeed and share the latest thinking on this subject and Ill include a quick hash tag and even create it if it doesnt exist. Notice I can post this to a site feed as well other SharePoint sites can have their own feeds! I can also embed this document or a video in lots of different places and Steps

Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Demo Guide

Lets go to a Team Site, where most work gets done in SharePoint. Weve made big improvements here to redefine collaboration, by providing a central place thats scalable enough to organize and manage all your information assets. What makes SharePoint unique is that its designed to also organize and store documents to enable personal productivity, keep teams in sync, and projects on track. First, weve improved the experience and feel. The out of the box design and clean and uncluttered, and weve done work to make the page loads very smooth and fast. You can also toggle the nav off to focus on the content. Weve also improved fundamental ease of use capabilities like the ability to just drag and drop a file into this library. This works in document libraries and in my Skydrive library too, as you saw. Next, weve done a lot of work to make it easy to take a team site from blank template to a customized site. The Getting Started web part exposes the most common tasks to make it really easy to do things like re-theme the site. In this example, Ill just make that picture I dragged in 1. Team site UX a. Speaker Script a moment ago into the background image. In the project management space, were introducing Site Mailboxes, which bring Exchange emails and SharePoint documents together into one experience. Site mailboxes allow users to work together naturally while compliance is applied behind the scenes. When one project member files mail or documents using the site mailbox, any project member can then access the content. Site mailboxes are surfaced in Outlook 2013 and give users easy access to the email and documents for the projects they care about. Additionally, the same set of content can be accessed directly from the SharePoint site. Task management is vastly improved in SharePoint 2013. I can have children tasks, all displayed nicely in this timeline view, and I can even edit multiple items at once, and even fill down so John is assigned to all of these this multi-edit actually works for other lists and libraries as well. Finally, Ill just add this task to the timeline so you can see how it displays and maybe Ill move it so it looks nice. Task management is really nice at the team site level, and I can take this farther and actually manage this list in the Project client and keep it synced. Weve also put a lot of thought into how to keep organized ACROSS all the sites in the organization that I might belong to. If I go to my Tasks, I actually have a rollup of all these tasks from various team sites, as well as from Project Server. I can also turn things into tasks really easily like a post on my Newsfeed. And I can of course sync this to Steps

It is challenging to get the right information to the right people on demand, especially because responsive results may have to include email messages, instant messages, documents, and other data types that are not easy to tie together. The Discovery Center in SharePoint 2013 Cloud gives you a single place to manage discovery across SharePoint and Exchange. Unified Search and Hold is used to preserve content in-place and be able to search that content. eDiscovery is organized around cases, so I will navigate to an existing case to highlight some of the features. Each case gets its own page, and each page is broken up into two main sections: Identify and Preserve and Search and Export. I can create queries that target Discovery Set results. These queries can span multiple Discovery Sets and can be filtered. There are tabs available to view Exchange and SharePoint results separately. Once I have the right content, I can export it directly from the query page, and there are options to remove duplicates and strip RMS encryption. SharePoint 2013 Cloud also includes the Record Center template, which was not supported in the previous version of SharePoint Online. I can see content organizer rules that get applied to documents that are sent here, either manually or as the result of a retention policy. To wrap up this demo, I will switch personas one last time to cover some administration steps. Again, in the SharePoint Administration Center, I can create new site collections and manage existing ones. There is also a PowerShell component that allows me to create multiple site collections. I will create a new Contoso Beta site collection, specifying the administrator account as the primary site collection administrator and assigning a storage quota. While that site collection is spinning up, I will navigate to an existing Contoso Beta site collection and share it with a user. Now, returning to the SharePoint Administration Center, I will delete the existing site collection that I just shared another user. This site collection is not lost to me forever.
