FAITHFUL CAPTAIN S/K Stephan Reagan

FAITHFUL PURSER S/K Adrien Piche

Summer is official here, which means Family gatherings, holidays, and no school, time away visiting someone we love and hopefully lots of rest and relaxation. As we enter into the Churchs calendar year of ordinary times let us be mindful of the gifts which GOD has planted in us at Christmas, through out lent and the Easter Tridium and let these seeds of faith and commitment grow in us so that He might reap a harvest of faithful Knights ready to love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ in whatever capacity He so desires of us. May we always be ready to give a defence of the hope we have and a witness of the Saving power of Christ in our lives to all those we encounter. Thank you to all for being men and women of integrity and loyalty.

Brother Knights: As we approach the end of the Columbian Year, we are involved in marking the last of this and that, i.e. the last meeting before summer, the last day of school, the last of many things before we relax from our many activities and enjoy the wonderful time of summer and holidays. Thanks to all Knights who finished a term of serving on the executive and welcome to all new members taking on a special responsibility for the coming year. Our baptismal grace gives us the strength to work and grow in the faith moulding us into disciples of Jesus. Tertulian, a 2nd. Century Christian writer penned the wise saying that "Christians are MADE and not BORN. Christians are indeed made, a process that takes a lifetime of following Jesus. Hopefully we can remember this and continue to journey in our faith with commitment, urgency and love. Learn from your failures and, with Gods grace, become ever stronger in your faith-life. Happy journey and God bless you always! Monsignor Raymond Senger (Faithful Friar)

Page 2 June 2013 Newsletter DArcy McGee Assembly - S/K Adrien Piche FAITHFUL NAVIGATORS MESSAGE: Our Columbian year is all but rapped up and I would like to thank all you Sir Knights and your lovely wives for a great and eventful year. It has been a very busy one. We have had numerous successful events in which the Honor Guard were well represented. The most resent of which was the ordination of our two newest priests. Father Colin Roy and Father Daniel Yasinski were ordained to the priesthood June 14 at a joyful celebration at the Cathedral of the Holy Family in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon. We also had the honor of being included in the opening ceremonies of the Saskatchewan Special Olympic Games on June 21 st. Thank you to all of you Sir Knights that assisted in all the Honor Guard duties over the years. On June 18th, we celebrated Mass and installation of our new executive members at St. Annes Seniors Village with Monsignor Raymond Senger. I would like to thank Monsignor Ray for all his years of dedication and service to our Assembly and the Knights and I look forward to another year of Spiritual guidance. To the out going executive, thank you very much for your hard work and your guidance. I could not have done my job with out your support. To the incoming executive, I look forward to working together with all of you so that we can have another successful year. I would like thank all the Members who have been a part of our history, and wish to have you as part of our Future. The Assembly needs input and involvement from all our members in order for it to be vibrant and succeed. We will continue to meet on the third Tuesdays of each month whether it is for a meeting or a social. Either way, I hope that all of you try to be involved as best as you can. If a ride is holding you back, please contact me and arrangements can be made. I am hoping to call a meeting in mid August with our wives in order to organize our next Columbian Year. Thank you all that have helped me through this last year. I hope every one has a warm and relaxing summer. Vivat Jesus Abel de Sa Faithful Navigator DArcy McGee Assembly

THE VIRTUE OF FORTITUDE

The reading of Christs crucifixion and death shows us the ultimate fortitude, even to die for ones convictions. Fortitude is one of the manliest virtues. We all want to be strong and powerful. We see this as examples of Christ and all the martyrs in the Church who had the fortitude rather to give their lives than to succeed to something dishonourable. Our fortitude begins already with little things: to get up in the morning and say your prayers, go to Mass if you have the opportunity, tell your children what you feel is right or wrong, face any evil-doer with strong opposition and oppose political views and laws which contravene with the teachings of the Church. Be there at the March for Life, pray for the support of life and help women and families in distress. It takes guts to be different, to swim against the current. Go to political meetings in your community. Support the Catholic Schools. Be a man of fortitude which means a man with strength not of muscles but of character. Fortitude is not only a virtue of an individual but a virtue for a community. A Roman story tells us about a bundle of sticks tightly bound; it cannot be broken. Only when you take every individual stick and break it, then the bundle is doomed. Be brave and strong in unity with each other.
