Monitor CBC of the Pt periodically during therapy. This
drug may cause an increase in AST, ALT, alkaline
phosphatase, and bilirubin which according to recent
lab testing the ALT is slightly low, and the alkaline
phos: Is slightly higher than normal values.
Be sure to teach the patient the following about this
medication
Tablets should be swallowed whole, do not crush or
chew. May cause occasional drowsiness or dizziness.
Advise patient to report onset of black, tarry stools,
diarrhea, abdominal pain or persistent headache to
health care professional promptly.
