1. Product Concept
1-1 Positioning of Plumeria-CW3
Plumeria-CW3 is the successor model of DeskTopBinder V2 Professional/Lite (2.x.x.x). The main purpose of launching this product is to brush up the functions, which already have been provided in the former version, and give the customer, a more easy and comfortable operation from input to output workflow. We would basically want to keep the same concept as former version.. The positioning of Plumeria-CW3 is as the following:

*Plumeria-CW3 Lite/A, bundled with Model A-C3 version 1, Model B-C2, Model J-P2, and Model S-F2 will be switched to Plumeria-CW3 Lite/B after the development of Plumeria-CW3 Lite/B is finished. The switching timing will depend on the production date of the device. Note: Purpose of launching two types of Plumeria-CW3 Lite Model A-C3 version 1, the target machine of Plumeria-CW3 Lite/A, will hold a new feature of Fax Received File inside the DocumentServer HDD of the device. To retrieve the incoming fax from the DocumentServer HDD of the device to the PC, the only Windows based utility is Plumeria-CW3 Lite. This function is an enhanced feature for promotion, and from the marketing point of view, we believe that it is the best policy to launch Plumeria-CW3 Lite with Model A-C3 (version 1), and promote together from the first stage.

Plumeria-CW3 Lite Version Plumeria-CW3 Lite is bundled to the RICOH I/O device, and its role is to Sell more RICOH I/O device. Plumeria-CW3 Lite can be used as a sales promoting/demonstration tool to attract the customer by showing its visual user interface and the functionality. Target user can be anyone who is wiling to purchase an I/O device. Plumeria-CW3 Full Version Plumeria-CW3 Full targets the following customer: Customer using ScanRouter DocumentServer Customer using ScanRouter V2 Professional or ScanRouter Enterprise Version up of DeskTopBinder, DeskTopBinder V2 (1.x.x.x) and DeskTopBinder V2 (2.x.x.x) Customer who have used Plumeria-CW3 Lite, and want to use the unique enhanced features of the Plumeria-CW3 Full.
2-2 Selling Points and Promoting Applications

1. Function Palette Lite/A, Lite/B & Full Major function of Plumeria-CW3 (Input, Output and File conversion) can be made only by drag & drop to the Function Palette. Function Palette stands on the desktop just like the tool bar of Microsoft Office. Plumeria-CW3 does not have to be launched while using this feature. Since the Function Palette enables the users to use its functions without launching Plumeria-CW3 itself, we can provide the enhanced Plumeria-CW3s features without bothering customers application.
2. OCR Function Full Rich Text File format will be supported for the OCR function. This will reflect the item and paragraph information after converting an image file to text. 3. Extended Features Wizard Lite/B & Full Major features of Plumeria-CW3 can be added easily with this Wizard. Installation and feature settings will be much easier than the former version. 4. Auto Document Link Lite/A, Lite/B & Full The features of Auto-additional tool and ScanRouter V2 Link has been integrated to this tool. Moreover, Auto Document Link can monitor the incoming fax stored inside the DocumentServer HDD of MFP (from Model A-C3). Easy paperless fax solution can be made with Plumeria-CW3. 5. Serverless Paperless fax solution Lite/A, Lite/B & Full By providing Easy paperless fax solution with Plumeria-CW3 Lite and Model A-C3, this will be the entrance for the customer to experience the Paperless fax world, and lead them to a full-scale Ricohs fax managing solution by proposing ScanRouter V2 Professional/Enterprise + ScanRouter DocumentServer. 6. The enhanced features of connected to ScanRouter DocumentServer Full With the new OCR features, extension of supporting file format, extension of My Computer tree view, etc, Plumeria-CW3 Full can provide an additional value to the document management environment of the customer. 7. Enhanced Printing Functions Lite/A, Lite/B & Full From Plumeria-CW3, the users printing options is enlarged. The output of mixed size documents, adjusting the position of Header/Footer, and supporting Magazine and Booklet format is possible in Plumeria-CW3.

Lite/A, Lite/B & Full Function Palette provides major function of Plumeria-CW3 by drag & dropping the file to the tool bar. Plumeria-CW3 does not have to be launched when using Function Palette.

3-1-2 Object Data Windows File Document stored in Plumeria-CW3 Section stored in Plumeria-CW3 Object data stored in Plumeria-CW3 can be disposed under the following conditions: The section data of the document is handled as file. The document in My Workroom, which can be Drag & Drop in Windows Note: The file that has the following file extension cannot be disposed: exe, dll, ocx, sys, vxd, 386, bat, com, lnk, reg, hta, js, pif, wsf, rdl Concerning lnk file, the object file will be the indicated file itself. 3-1-3 How to launch From Windows Start Menu From Start up (Chosen when installing Plumeria-CW3) 3-1-4 Operation Drag and Drop (by either right-click or left-click) the file to the icon of Function Palette Note: Disposing order will not follow the selecting order when dropping the file from Windows. When dropping from Plumeria-CW3, it will follow the selecting order. If you Drag & Drop the file to an Input icon, the cursor will change to and you will not be able to drop the file.

Click the Function Palette icon 1. Output The file the user selected in the Output File List dialogue will be the disposed object file. The disposing order will be the order the file is displayed in the Output File List dialogue. <Image of Output File List>
2. Conversion The file the user selected in the Conversion File List dialogue will be the disposed object file. The disposing order will be the order the file is displayed in the Conversion File List dialogue. 3. Input The disposure will take place immediately. If the user selected scanner input, instead of launching Viewer as in Plumeria-CW3, the TWAIN dialogue is displayed. The disposed file will be stored in the TWAIN dialogue.

3-1-5 File Storage When using Output Function or Conversion Function, the disposed file will be stored to either the Plumeria-CW3 My Workroom folder or the Windows folder. [Save as] dialogue will be displayed. As a default setting, the previous storage folder where the user indicated will be entered. If the user stores the disposed file in Plumeria-CW3 My Workroom folder, the file will be stored as Document. The user can select either to save as a different document for each file or to save the file as one document. The user cannot input any information at the time when the document is added. For example, Document Name, Creator Name, etc. Note: When using the Conversion function and storing the file converted, the user can choose to save the multiples files as one document or as multiple files. The Document Name will automatically be chosen. Plumeria and Function Palette are two different software. So the Save in: settings are not linked.

By Drag & Drop the file in the list to where the user wishes to insert in the list, editing the order is possible. By Drag & Drop the application, which can be dropped into the Function Palette, the user can add the file to the end of the list.

4. Select file storage When using Input Function or Conversion Function, the dialogue asks the user where to store the file after disposure. The user can omit this dialogue. 3-1-7 Task icon While the Function Palette is launched, the task icon appears in the Windows Taskbar. By right-clicking the icon, the Pop Up Menu will show. 3-1-8 Position and Size The Function Palette remembers where it was previously positioned and is displayed there when the PC is restarted. By dragging the grip portion of the Function Palette, the user can move the Function Palette. The shape of the cursor will change when the cursor is on top of the Function Palette The user cannot change the size of the Function Palette. Altering the size or the icon title will automatically change the size of the Function Palette.

3-1-9 Tool chip When the cursor is placed on top of the Function Palette and if the Function Palette is active, the Extended Features name will be displayed by tool chip.
Note: Plumeria-CW3 must be installed to use Function Palette. Also, the Extended Features Settings can only made at Plumeria-CW3. The new features added at Plumeria-CW3 will be displayed at the Function Palette. By changing the name of the Extended Feature, which is already added in the Function Palette through the Extended Features Settings, the setting to display/undisplayed the Extended Feature in the Function Palette is unaffected. The icons in Function Palette will be displayed by set up of [Properties] or restarting the PC.

Operation If the user selects the [same as the original size], the same size as the original document will be printed out. When other paper sizes are selected, the image file or the document created with an application is enlarged or reduced to fit the paper size, and then printed. In DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x, when different paper sizes were mixed, settings such as [Duplex] [Layout] [Punch] [Staple] cannot be selected. In Plumeria-CW3, these settings can be selected. Note: If the original paper size is mixed, by selecting the printout paper size, [Layout] is possible. In this case, [Original Size] entry in Preview will be the first paper size of the original document. 3-2-2 Adjust the position of Header and Footer Lite/A, Lite/B & Full The position of Header and Footer are adjustable in the following place: [Header/Footer] dialog in the [Print] Dialog [Header/Footer] dialog in the Easy Print [Properties] dialog [Header/Footer] tab in the [Preview and Print] dialog [Print margin from paper edge] is added. The user can adjust the place of print in [Print margin from paper edge]. mm or inch will depend on the setting of Plumeria-CW3 mm/inch mm inch Default 8 mm 0.31 inch Range 0 to 40 mm 0 to 1.57 inch
The print position of Header/Footer is possible in 6 places. Top Left, Top Center, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Center, and Bottom Right. The print position can be selected as how many mm inside the paper edge. The Header/Footer will move the selected mm toward the center of the page. If the Header/Footer is placed in the center of the page, the Header/Footer will stay at the same place. The setting is reflected to both the Header/Footer.

Note: Adjusting the print position of Header/Footer is possible only if the printer driver supports it. If the printer driver does not support this function, print position of Header/Footer cannot be changed. The driver version, which supports this function is 2.43 or later in version 2.x.x and 3.33 or later in version 3.x.x. When Header/Footer values are specified beyond the printable range, they are printed at maximum print range. When Header/Footer values are specified beyond the normal print range, printing may fail depending on the specification of network devices. The default print position of the Header/Footer is changed from 6 mm from paper edge to 3 mm in printable area according to change in print driver. If the driver cannot adjust the print position, Plumeria-CW3 will still create Print Preview, but the actual output may differ to the Print Preview. Specification changed drivers are as the following: Model K-P1 2.02 or later AP2600 Model A-C2 2.05 or later AF1035/1045 Model J-P1 1.89 or later (Stati Uniti) Model R-C2 2.07 or later AF 1022-27-32 Model A-P3 2.08 or later AP 4510 Model K-P2 3.05 or later AP 2610 This is a new standard for other drivers.
3-2-3 Support Magazine/Booklet Printing Lite/B & Full This setting can be made from the [Preview and Print] [Duplex] dialogue. The following selections are added. In DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x, mm/inch change was possible from the left pane of DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x Main Window. From Plumeria-CW3, mm/inch is changeable from the [Preferences] dialog of Plumeria-CW3. The default setting would be according to setting in OS Control Panel. 3-3 Connection with the Fax received file of Document Server HDD
Lite/A, Lite/B & Full Following features has been added from Plumeria-CW3: 1. Display the Fax received file inside the DocumentServer HDD of MFP (from Model A-C3) 2. Change the fax sending method when re-faxing from the DocumentServer HDD 3-3-1 Display the Fax received file inside the DocumentServer HDD If the connected device has the Fax received file, Fax received file will be displayed and the list of received Fax will be shown. The Fax received file will be displayed under [All Users] and [User Name] in the right pane of the Plumeria-CW3 Main Window. Following operation can be made for the Fax received file stored in the DocumentServer HDD : Display the property of the file (Items in Property window: Document name, User Name, Page(s), Password, Added, Storage Method) Items changeable in Properties: Document Name, User Name, Password Note: Whether the user can change the properties of the Fax received file relies on the setting of the device. If the device restricts the user from changing the properties, the change cannot be made. Delete the file Extract the file (the format of the extracted file depends on device) Copy the file (the format of the copied file depends on device) (to ScanRouter Document Server, My Computer, My Workroom, Job Binding Folder) View by Easy viewer

Note: If the password of Fax received file is selected by the MFP side, the user will have to enter the password when selecting the Fax received file. If the password is correct, the Fax received file list will open. If the password is incorrect, a warning message will be displayed and the previous selected folder will be selected. 3-3-2 Change the fax sending method when re-faxing from the DocumentServer HDD If the GW device is after Model A-C3, the fax sending method supported by the device will be displayed in the settings dialogue. The four fax sending methods will be displayed in the settings dialogue when the device is before Model U-C1 and Model Mt-C1. The send fax storage in the GW are the only documents that can be re-faxed.
3-4 Auto Document Link

Lite/A, Lite/B & Full Auto Document Link can monitor the delivery server in-tray (ScanRouter V2 Lite/Professional and ScanRouter Enterprise) in the network, local Windows folders, and network device Fax received file, and notify of documents or files on client computers. Also, Auto Document Link can automatically transfer these documents or files to Plumeria-CW3 folders or Windows folders. ScanRouter V2 Link and Auto-addition Tool functions have been integrated into Auto Document Link. Auto Document Link is installed at the same time as Plumeria-CW3. Auto Document Link can neither be installed independently nor coexist with ScanRouter V2 Link or Auto-additional Tool. <Image of Auto Document Link Icon> When Auto Document Link is launched, the icon is in the Taskbar.

3-4-1 Auto Document Link features 1. Notice and/or retrieve the document to the client PC (Plumeria-CW3 folder or Windows folder), when document comes in to the ScanRouter delivery server in-tray. This function used to be made by ScanRouter V2 Link. From Plumeria-CW3, ScanRouter V2 Link will be integrated to Auto Document Link. 2. Notice and/or retrieve the fax to the client PC (Plumeria-CW3 folder or Windows folder), when fax comes in to the HDD of GW machine Fax received file of the device. This is new function. This function is available only for the GW machine device, which has the feature of storing, received fax file in its DocumentServer HDD. 3. Notice and/or retrieve the document to the client PC (Plumeria-CW3 folder or Windows folder), when document comes into the specified Windows folder*. This function used to be made by Auto-addition Tool. From Plumeria-CW3, Auto-addition Tool will be integrated to Auto Document Link.

3-4-9 Deleting the Original File If the Fax received file is monitored, the user can choose to delete the original document after polling. If the delivery server or the local folder is monitored, the original document is always deleted after polling. Limitation: 1. Monitoring is not available for Shared Cabinet 2. 3-5 Additional Masking Function

Lite/B & Full 3-5-1 Overview Masking object (square, rectangle, oval, horizontal or vertical line) can be placed on TIFF image section. A masking object will become black and will be fixed to the image when it is converted to image. Before masking is performed, settings must be made to use masking in Viewer Preferences, and the user must enter the Edit Image mode. Image data, which has been edited at the Plumeria viewer, can be saved temporary and transfer the image to the next user without finalizing the edit. This will let the next user to re-edit or correct the image. The image that is available for this function is only TIFF format. 3-5-2 Operation 1. On the [Graphics] menu, point to [Masking], and then select the desired command, or click the buttons available on the Edit Image toolbar.

3-6 Expansion of My Computer Display in the Tree View

Lite/B & Full Desktop, My Documents and My Pictures, will be displayed in the tree view. The name My Computer in the [Enhanced Features] will be changed. Suggested new name is Windows Document. In the tree view, the order of display is Windows Document is on top of Desktop. Under Desktop, there is My Computer and My Document. My Picture is placed under My Document. Under My Document, the user can create New Folder and File Conversion.

Limitation: In OS such as Windows2000, the user can remove the check from Display My Document on Desktop, but this is not reflected to this function. 1. 3-7 Improvements of the Retrieval Operation

Lite/B & Full Retrieval conditions can be saved to a file, and also opened to use (Save Conditions button and Recall Conditions button will be added to the search Window). User will not have to type in every retrieval conditions in their daily operation. The file extension will be as follows: Broad Search: xxx. RQB Keyword Search: xxx.RQK Content Text Search: xxx.RQF The search condition will be saved in the client PC. When the user presses the [Save Conditions] button, a dialogue will appear and the search condition entered at the moment will be saved in the file. The display of letters in the image is damaged severely. Therefore, change of display quality is added to display the image in high quality. This function is effective to the image view. In the editing view, the operation is the same as DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x. The tool chip of menu and tool bar is changed as the following: [Black & White] [Normal] [Gray scale] [High Quality] In [High Quality] mode, the quality will be the same as when editing the image. It will take 1.5 to 2 times as much time.

If the data section does not correspond to Application Viewer, the Thumbnails will be created from the icons. Note: The quality of Thumbnails depends on Application Viewer. If the Application Viewer does not apply to the data, the quality of the Thumbnails will correspond the quality. This will be an addition operation so the creating time of Thumbnails will be longer than DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x.
4-4 Application launching the Cabinet document

Lite/B & Full Application launching of the document inside the Shared Cabinet is possible. When the Shared Cabinet document is selected, the following operations are possible: [Document] [Open in Application] can be selected. [Open Application] by right-click can be selected. When opening the Shared Cabinet document by EasyViewer, [Open] can be selected. In order to prevent from affecting the original document by editing after opening in application, a copy will be created in the local and the copy will be opened by application. The message reporting the editing will not affect the original document will pop up when opening the document by application.

4-5 Multi-selection of documents in Conversion

Lite/B & Full When converting the file and when the user checks on [Save Data by Conversion], in DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x, the [Make as one file] box was checked and invisible. From Plumeria-CW3, taking on and off the check is possible. When saving data by converting file, one file may be converted to several files according to the type of conversion. If the user converted by Multi-page, Multi-page TIFF is saved as one section of the document.

4-8 The Producing of Web Display Data importing CSV file

Lite/B & Full When importing CSV file, the Web Display Data is created according to the Cabinet settings. When registering a document by CSV in DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x, the Web Display Data cannot be created no matter the Cabinet settings. In Plumeria-CW3, if the file storage settings is [Create], Web Display Data can be created when the file is saved as CSV. If the file storage settings is not [Create], the Web Display Data cannot be created.
4-9 Save previous information when saving the converted file

Lite/B & Full When selecting the file storage in image, text and PDF conversion, the previous setting will be displayed as a default setting. DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x [Add as document] is always selected. The place where the original document exists in will be entered as the default setting of the [Place] of the [Add as document]. The place where the previous file is saved as Windows file will be entered as the [Place] of the [Save as Windows File]. (If the user has never saved as a Windows file, the box will be left blank) Plumeria-CW3 The place where the user made the previous storage, either DeskTopBinder or Windows, will be selected. If the storage is the first time, [Add as document] will be selected.

4-10 Full Display for Easy Viewer

Lite/B & Full 4-10-1 Display method In DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x, there was only one display method, which is to display according to the range. From Plumeria-CW3, the display of full size is added. 4-10-2 Full size The maximum size button is added. (The minimum size button is invalid.) The full size is displayed by double clicking the Title Bar. 4-10-3 Memorize the button selected by the Tab In DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x, when selecting the button by [Tab] and determining by [Enter] or [Space Bar], the button will be reset at the Easy Viewer display. In Plumeria-CW3, the previous selected button is memorized and it will be selected in. If the user closes the Easy Viewer window, the setting will be renewed and the Viewer launch button will be able to select.
4-11 Save the previous search condition in My Workroom

Lite/B & Full In DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x, the last search entry on Scan Router Pro and Scan Router Enterprise is saved as a default setting. In Plumeria-CW3, the same operation is possible in My Workroom including My Cabinet and Shared Cabinet. The default setting will be saved even when Plumeria-CW3 is restarted. The entry of [Keyword Search] and [Search All] is saved after [Search] is pushed. One entry for [Keyword Search] and [Search All] is saved separately in the same file. When opening the Search window, the previous entry and search condition is entered as default setting. The expiration of the data is until Plumeria-CW3 is uninstalled and the data in the Cabinet is deleted. The data is effective after the Plumeria-CW3 is shutdown and restarted. As a new feature of Plumeria-CW3, there is [Save] and [Call] function. Note: The Search Place cannot be saved.

Lite/B & Full In DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x, in order to delete the selected section when opening the image, the user needed to delete from menu. From Plumeria-CW3, the section can be deleted by pressing [Delete] when the user is opening the section in the right pane of Plumeria-CW3 Main Window. Deleting by pressing [Delete] is possible when the left window is activated. If the right window is activated, the operation will follow the right window. The disposure after pressing [Delete] is the same as selecting delete section from [Menu].

Lite/B & Full In DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x, when the user changed the shape of the rounded rectangles and renewed the properties of the object in the editing feature of the right pane of Plumeria-CW3 Main Window, the rounded rectangle return to its initial shape. In Plumeria-CW3, the change made will be maintained.

4-17 Application/Viewer Start-up in Environment Setting

Lite/B & Full [Tools] [Properties] will enable the user to change the launch method when double-clicking the document. The default setting will be the setting of the RExpEnv.ini file under C:RidocCabPLData. If there is no setting, the operation will be the same as the DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x. The setting made in the [Properties] will be saved in the RExpEnv.ini file under C:RidocCabPLData. When the document is double-clicked, the setting will be retrieved, and the document will be launched as the setting. The setting is valid until Rexp.exe expires. 4-17-1 Operation The operation will be the same as DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x the first time Plumeria-CW3 is launched. In [Properties], the [Fix Launch Method] will be checked and by selecting either Application launch or Viewer launch, the document will be launched according to the setting. Regarding Application launch, the user can chose to include image. If the image file is included, the image file is launched by its related application. If the image file is not included, the image file is launched by the Viewer. In ScanRouter DocumentServer, the menu of application launch will be changed as the following. Open by Application Open by Application (Read Only) Open by Application (Renew) If Read Only is selected, the Application will always open by Read Only. If the user edit the document opened by Application (Read Only), the document cannot be saved in Plumeria-CW3, but it can be saved in the local folder. The document opened by Application (Renew) will follow the same operation as DeskTopBinder V2 2.x.x.x and edit/save will be possible. When double-clicking the application document, a dialogue, which asks to select from Read Only and Renew, will be shown. The operation will be the same as choosing Open by Application from menu. The display/undisplay of this document can be set-up in the [Properties]. If undisplay is selected, the document will always be opened by Application (Read Only) when double clicked.
