NOX is a professional Karate dojo in the Town of

Markham that is dedicated to helping its community
through the sport of Karate.

Through NOX, Kancho Sean Wong has pioneered

many programs in Markham. From being the town's
first dedicated Karate dojo in 1990 to being the first to
develop an international Karate champion, NOX
continually strives to improve itself and provide its
community the very best in Karate for fitness, sport,
and cultural preservation.

About Kancho Wong

Kancho (Owner) Wong began teaching Karate as an
assistant instructor in 1984. Through his journey in
Karate, he has come to admire the human spirit and
appreciate how Karate can make a positive
difference in peoples lives. One quarter of a century
later, his desire to make a world of difference has
made it his mission to provide the best possible
mentoring to all of his students.

a healthy and happy world one person at a time.

instructors are recognized by the Meibukan Hombu
Dojo in Okinawa, Japan and Sport Canada certified
to provide a safe and enjoyable training
environment. In addition, the martial art syllabus at
NOX is complete with the practice of:

Our Meibukan Karate Program is divided into
programs which is in line with Sport Canada's
guidelines. These are Junior Meibukan Karate
program for ages 9-11 years old and our Traditional
Meibukan Program for ages 11 years to adult.

KinderNOX and FUN a MENTALS Karate follows Sport Canada's guidelines of
introducing young athletes to sports. Both of these programs are age specific
and are designed to give youngsters a head start in organized sports and
FUN a MENTALS physical literacy. Because this is a martial arts program, there is the added
benefit of your child learning discipline, respect, integrity, and focus.
KARATE Junior KinderNOX – 3 to 5 years old
Senior KinderNOX – 5 to 7 years old
FUN a MENTALS – 7 – 9 years old

Select League – More than just fun and a little more competitive
Elite League – A direction towards provincial and international placement.
Special tournament only memberships are available for Black Belt members
from other clubs.
