Reviewing what happened, it is obvious our staff provided gave you good advice. You chose not take it which is your right as the ultimate decision maker. However, your vote shocked and mystified me. It did untold damage to the faith many of your constituents had in you especially since it was unnecessary given the current composition of congress and the totality of the outcome. Voting present in the future will preclude future angst. It is no secret progressive leaders and like-minded members of congress in both parties are openly hostile to the Constitution. Speaker Boehner reminds everyone the Tea Parties and Constitutional conservatives are irrelevant in the overall scheme of things. Boehner, Ryan, and company do not elect you- we do! Boehner and his useful idiots show they support for the administrative state created by Congress when it reorganized itself in the 1970. He, Rep. Ryan and the Republican hierarchy is part of the problem since the Constitution provides almost no role for the federal government in the area of administration leaving it instead to the states where it belongs under the constitutional doctrine of federalism. The attached copy of the October 2013 Imprimis deals with this issue. It provides historical context showing how Congress has transformed itself from a legislative body into an administrative body not authorized or envisioned by the Constitution. It also reveals how budget battles have become a means to Destroy the fabric of constitutional federalism, Undermine the separation of powers, Make it difficult if not impossible for Congress, the president, and the bureaucracy to function amicably in pursuit of a national interest. That I refuse to condone or support.

When congress reconvenes, the budget will be a major item on the agenda. I understand and appreciate what you tried to do when you cast your ill-conceived yes vote. I have no problem with the reasoning behind the Budgets, Veterans Benefits and More you authored. I admire your futile attempt to get back to the basics and restore the rule of law. Your decision was constitutionally literate and sound. However, knowing the composition of the present congress your vote defined the word insanity because it was an attempt to do the same thing one more time while expecting a different result. A repeat under these circumstances will be an act of insanity because doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insanity. Congress unwillingness to rebut or do anything about Obamas executive orders, dictums from the EPA and other illegal and unconstitutional agencies is a constant reminder that congress is a criminal body that has relegated its power to administration as opposed to the deliberative legislative body it is supposed to be. Congressional oversight of the agencies it creates is a joke. This has to stop. We sent you to Congress to legislate, not administrate. Thats what we expect you to do. Eleven GOP attorneys general from Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and Virginia say the Obama administration is breaking the law by repeatedly making changes to ObamaCare without going through Congress. They are spot on! It is refreshing to see Republicans put constitutional principle above progressive party politics for a change. If the constitution and the rule of law mean anything I suggest you follow their lead. You did run for office as a Constitutional Conservative. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I do wish you fair winds, following seas as well as a productive prosperous New Year. Yours in the Bill of Rights,
