Full outline of Programme Idea A new Manchester based scripted reality with a mix of characters from all around the Manchester Area. A Group of Students who have all enrolled at Manchester University from different back grounds have the chance to have the time of their lives with possibly getting there dream job after University. They all have to stay in the same house Have to work in their spare time to do with their degree course and their employer would be the ones assessing if they get there dream job or not at the end. Have to prove there worthy to their tutor who will be guiding them along i.e. the boss Each term of University would be a series Allocated a certain amount of money to live off a term for food but get one night paid for a week of their choice to have a good night off.

Character names, profiles and relationships LADS Connor Ward Con Age: 18 Location: STOCKPORT Likes: football, going out with his mates, getting drunk, going to the gym, House Music and girls Dislikes: City Fans, unattractive people, and someone who doesnt take care of their body. Back-story: Connor has always been a popular lad in school/college and has always been conscience of his appearance; he loves his family and spends a lot of time with them, especially his dad and granddad who he sees as a great role model and loves buying new clothes to make himself look Fresh. Connor is very picky with who he makes friends with but will get on with a lot of people. Relationships: Connor moves from one girl to the next, he has only ever had one real relationship which tore him apart when so now he doesnt let another girl into his life which is why he wont commit. Lifestyle: Connor did okay in school/college and has still managed to go to University and wants to excel his clothes brand to be able to have his own store one day. Idiosyncrasies: Connor is usually well behaved and polite to unfamiliar people but has his moments when hes with his mates or drunk. Joe Johnson JJ Age:18 Location: STOCKPORT Likes: football, going out with his mates, getting drunk, some drugs, going to the gym, Indie Music and girls Dislikes: Football Hooligans, cheese and daddys girls Back-story: Joe wasnt bad at school or college but just gets very distracted and likes to look good but isnt to bothered about it. He knows he needs to focus more and his family is helping him do that. Joes always like to mess about and have some laughs with his mates and spends a lot of time with his best mate Con. Relationships: Joe has just come out of a relationship which was turning pretty serious; he now wants to be single for a while before getting into his next relationship. Lifestyle: He wants to get become a fitness trainer for a football club and is going to be trying his best a University. Idiosyncrasies: Joe can be quite aggressive and can switch easily between being friends with someone or not. He usual tries his best to been friends with everyone he can but is a totally different person when hes drunk.

Jack Mitchel Mitch Age: 21 Location: SALFORD Likes: Girls, drugs, partying, tanning the gym, being the voice of a night out, Dislikes: vain people, lads who think there it, Backstory: Mitch has always got on with lads but can be sly to lads he doesnt really like. He didnt manage to finish college but has been training to be a personal trainer since he was 16. Gets on with his family really well and spends loads of time with his little brother. Relationships: Jack is currently single and isnt planning on getting a girlfriend at the moment. He has had quite a few girlfriends but hasnt managed to have any of his relationship stick. Lifestyle: Mitch is determined to do well at University to be able to work as his own personal trainer and not for a gym. Idiosyncrasies: Hes well behaved but is known for getting into a few bust-ups. BIRDS Samantha Hickman Sam Age: 18 Location: CHESTER Likes: Reading, Writing, Walking, nature programmes and the environment, and riding her tandem Dislikes: Bullies, Drugs, fake people Backstory: Sarah has always been a straight A Student and has concentrated most of her life on being the best she can be academically. Sarah can be social with new people but before starting University has always focused on her three closest friends. Sarah decided that drinking has never really been her seen so stays away from all drugs and has never experienced a party apart from family parties. Relationships: Sarah has had a few boyfriends one very serious but wants to stay away while shes at university. Lifestyle: Sarah always tries to impress her teachers and goes the extra mile to do extra work. Shes always been a straighter A Student and believes in God but doesnt follow a religion fully. Idiosyncrasies: she is a well behaved and well-mannered young woman who wants to excel in life and be successful. Lucy Taylor Lu Age: 18 Location: WILMSLOW Likes: Shopping, socialising, being a girly girl Dislikes: jobs, poor people and vain people Backstory: Lucy has been spoiled all her life by her mum and

dad and gets treated constantly by her parents. She has always had lots of friends and has always had boys chasing after her. She considers herself not vain but everyone else considers her to be very conscience about her appearance. Relationships: Lucy hasnt really stuck with a guy very long as theres always another one chasing after her around the corner. Lifestyle: Lucy glided through school and college never really struggling but did get distracted from time to time. Idiosyncrasies: Lucy is usually nice and very generous to her friends and family but can be quite horrible and ignorant to new and familiar faces. Rebecca Lake Becca Age: 20 Location: BURY Likes: Shopping, spending her money, getting drunk, being herself and socialising with her friends Dislikes: Bitches, vain people and people she cant get along with Backstory: Rebecca has done nothing since shes left college, she had no idea what she wanted to do so for the last 2 years has gone full time at her job till she finally realised what she has wanted to do. She still lives at home and has been treated by her dad quite a bit but not since she finished college. Relationships: Rebecca has been with her boyfriend now for just over a year and she feels its going really well. Lifestyle: Rebecca did struggle at school and college and really had to work hard to get her grades and was commonly known as being blonde. Idiosyncrasies: Rebecca is a very nice person but when someone is horrible or nasty to her then she can be a completely different person.

Narrative ideas for first Episode The First Episode would be all the characters meeting. When a character arrives at the house there introduced to the audience and meet there other house mates Have a look around where there living including the area and end up deciding to go out. The show would delegate some screen time to each of the characters Back storys, what they want to achieve from the programme and what they have to offer. This would happen just before each character would enter the house just so the audience are aware of what the characters are like and figure out already which other characters they might like or not like. Signs of friendships being made and possible conflicts with characters already. One big night out that shows each of the characters real personality and the morning after they would all meet there tutor i.e. THE BOSS Will some have them already have coursed trouble and be kicked out before they had even unpacked? That would be how the first episode would end.

Why the programme idea will work (target audience) The target audience would be students and audiences close to their age. Most aged between 16 26. This is a big population that watch TV programmes especially scripted realities. It could give people an inside look on what a student life is like day to day and give them ideas of what you would get up to as a student. Most people aged 16 26 like watching these sorts of programmes as they relate to them more and can give them ideas on what they could be up to in the same sort of atmosphere.

Where/When will it be broadcast and why The programme would be aired on MTV. They have other shows related to this kind of scripted reality. They also have the budget to fund this kind of scripted reality as they are very popular and appeal to their audiences. MTV are also a good source for the target audience I am trying to connect to, the only down side would be that not the mass majority of students would be able to watch it as you have the pay extra for the programme. The up side is people mostly watch this show with friends, which means anyone with access to the programme, would watch it with their friends. The programme would be aired at night around 9 oclock as it would most likely have a lot of swearing in it with possible sexual scenes and references as well. These are the sorts of senses not allowed on at a tea time show.

Who will work on the programme and their job roles Main aim would be to use talented students from the university to create jobs and opportunities for the students but some people MTV would want themselves for the programme. Director the director will work with the producer and script writer to determine the best way to visually present the ideas of the project. Producer the film producer would initiates, co-ordinates, supervises, and controls matters in the project. Script writer the script writer will write some scripts for the characters to say when footage isnt live and initiate what they will do in their spare time and where they will go on a night out. Filming Crew will do all the filming and be told how to film it by the director and knowledge from themselves. Security if any fights burst out or anything happens theyll be there, off screen most of the time. The Boss watch over the characters to make sure there okay and punish them if they do something wrong. The characters will be themselves, no scripts for personality and not much they have to read scripted either. Editor edits the filming for the final copy to air. Graphic/fashion Designer team will do all added affects sounding, visual and decorate the accommodation. MTV Supervisor looks over the project to include anything MTV want in this programme and will work closely with the director. Estimated cost give justification The show would need costs for; Accommodation Paid night out a week University Term Fund to live off Possibly bonus from work Filming staff and Security Filming equipment, including cameras around accommodation, mics and green screen room. University course fee.
