AFFIDAVIT

I, Margie Tangalin, 25 years of age, a resident of Brgy. Paringao, Bauang, La Union, do hereby depose and say: 1. That sometime in March, 2013, I met Janeth F. Plandez, purporting to be a resident of Laoag, Ilocos Norte. She was introduced to me by my aunt Lydia Guron. 2. I first met Janeth Plandez when I accompanied my aunt to Tai Pan Restaurant located at San Fernando City, La Union. My aunt told me that Janeth recruited her to work as office attendant in Palau and she could help me too. With that encounter, I furnish my papers to Janeth Plandez and provided her a photocopies of my documents needed for processing my travel documents.

3. That several days later, Janeth F. Plandez called me up and told me to be ready and leave for Manila to have a medical examination. While on travel, I met the other recruits of Janeth, as we are all called for the medical examinations. 4. Upon arriving in Manila, while staying in the boarding house of Janeth Plandez, we had a conversation with Janeth. She made a promise and assurance that I will be leaving for Palau on June, 2013. With that, I handed her the amount of P 7,000.00 as payment for the medical examination and down payment for the processing fee to which she accepted without issuing any acknowledgement receipt . 5. After sometime, Janeth Plandez again called me telling me to go to San Juan, La Union for the orientation. After the short orientation, Janeth Plandez asked me for additional payment and to which I gave her certain amount, again, without her issuing an acknowledgement or any receipt. 6. That after sometime, again Janeth Plandez told me to go to Manila and get the result of my medical examination and to bring with me money amounting to P 10,000.00 to which I gave her. Again, she accepted it without issuing any receipt. 7. Unable to leave on June, 2013 for Palau, I asked her for any reason why I cannot leave. Janeth Plandez told me to wait as my visa was not yet issued.

8. Months passed, Janeth Plandez informed me that my visa was already approved but to my dismay, my work would be as an entertainer in a club owned by Janeth Plandezs fiance, named Martin Sukao. 9. Upon learning the work she offered me, I disagreed. I informed her that I would not be leaving anymore because the work she was offering was not the work that I have applied for and instead, I asked her to return the money which I have given her.

10. That when I asked for the return of my money, Janeth Plandez refused to comply with my demand after which she suddenly disappeared that I could no longer contact her in her old mobile number.

11. I am executing this affidavit to attest to the truthfulness of the allegations mentioned here and for legal intents and purposes that it may be worth.
