November 21, 2013 Dear WSUPierce County Master Gardener Community Garden Specialist Applicant, Congratulations!

I am excited to welcome you into the WSU Pierce County Master Gardener Volunteer Educator Program and Community Garden Specialist Training. Below you will find an explanation of the training details for 2014. In addition to this letter and before training begins, you will receive a phone call from a veteran Master Gardener who will serve as your mentor during the training and internship process. Your mentor will be available for the entire year to answer your questions and provide you with support.

Training Information:
Schedule Ten, Tuesday classes, January 21- March 25, 6:00 8:30 pm And two Saturday classes, February 22 and March 15, 9:00am-4:00pm A presentation schedule with more information will be sent to you in late December or early January. Additional training that is complementary to the formal Friday trainings will also be offered on an as-available basis. The days and times will be announced as details become available. Although participation in the supplementary training is recommended, it is not mandatory. WSU Pierce County Extension Office in the Pierce County Community Connections Building 3602 Pacific Avenue, Suite 200, Tacoma, WA 98418 (Please use the back entrance) Location for Feb. 11 & March 11 TBA The $150.00 class fee is due on the first day of class, January 21st. Please make checks or money orders payable to WSU Pierce County Extension Master Gardener Program. Please be prepared to use a credit or debit card to pay the $70 to register for the on-line training in late December or early January before classes begin. You will receive information about on-line training registration in late December or early January. Please eat before you come or bring a bag dinner to eat during the training. I recommend you buy a large (4) three-ring binder in which to put materials you will be receiving during the training. Come prepared to take notes. In the event of heavy snow or other hazardous driving conditions, you will receive a cancellation email from me, the program coordinator.
