The Department IEEE Student Branch Counselor and coordinators have Received Best IEEE Chapter Award consecutively for last two years 2010 & 2011 for its excellence in performance besides the WIE Global Award 2011 awarded for its continual efforts in creating health awareness among young women. The Department offers Value Added Training in PLC, Electric Drives & SCADA by SIEMENS Ltd, and Mumbai for Third & Final year students and training in LabVIEW by National Instruments, Bangalore for Second Year students. More than 25 batches done their final year projects at reputed Industries like NLC, DRDO,ACC, BSNL, Kerala Minerals, Mettur Power Plant, Siemens Corporate Training, SAIL, HPF, Shashayee Paper Board etc., The final year students of the department have received grants for Student Projects of Rupees Twenty Thousand & Six Thousand from ICTACT& TNSCST respectively. The final year students of the department have been selected for STUDENT PROJECT SCHEME in MAHINDRA Page 20 of 30

The final year students of the department have displayed their

PROJECT at VI Mantra 2011 Contest organized by NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS, BANGALORE. The second year students participated in ELECTROTECH-11 at CODISSIA and were appreciated for their interest and involvement.
The final & third year made fifteen entries in NI YANTRA and fifteen in VI MANTRA 2012 out of which seven batches that were listed in the top 50 out of 645 project entries from various reputed institutions all over India and presented and demonstrated their ideas in the 9th Annual EDUCATORS DAY 2012 organized by NICE & NI.

Our students won the second prize in NIYANTRA 2012 and received the cash prize of Rs.50, 000 /-.
The accomplishments continued with recognizing Dr.N.G.P. Institute of Technology with NI School of Academy Award.

The department enhances the practical skills of students by arranging In-plant Training for every student in reputed industries and few of the milestones are A VISIT to SIEMENS, MUMBAI, TNEB-TANGEDCO National Franchisee Training at Kalapatti Substation.
