Many have stated that it is impossible to know whether or not we are living in the last days before the second coming of Jesus Christ. However, below you will find dramatic proof that these are the endtimes. The proofs below defy coincidence.
Euphrates River to Be Dried Up
In Revelation 16:12, the Bible predicts that the Euphrates River will be dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the east to invade Israel. This will happen at the time of the Battle of Armageddon according to verse 16 of the same chapter. The Battle of Armageddon will be the final battle at which time Jesus will return and fight on the side of the nation of Israel. Immediately thereafter He will establish His kingdom and usher in His one thousand-year reign of peace. On January 13, 1990, the Indianapolis Star carried the headline Turkey Will Cut Off Flow of Euphrates for One Month. The article stated that a huge reservoir had been built by Turkey. While filling up the reservoir, the flow of the Euphrates would be stopped for one month and a concrete plug for a diversion channel built. These things have now been done. With this newly built dam, Turkey has the ability to stop the Euphrates River at will. The conditions for fulfilling this 1,900 year-old prophecy are now in place.
the Bible prophesies that an army of 200 million soldiers will launch a war which would kill the third part of men. Never in the history of the world until our present generation has there been a power on earth that could field 200 million soldiers. However, the late ruler of China, Mao Tse Tung, boasted in his diary that he could field an army of 200 million. The CIA World Factbook reports that in the year 2001, it is estimated that China has 200,886,946 men of military age, and this number is growing by 10 million per year.

In Revelation 13, the Bible prophesies that a world dictator will soon rule over a world government. He will cause all people in the earth to receive a number without which they will be unable to buy or sell. We are seeing this prophecy fulfilled before our eyes in a most astonishing way. Nearly every human being in the world now has been assigned a number. In America it is our Social Security number. In the past few years, we have seen this number extended to newborns. A child without a Social Security number cannot be declared as a dependent on an income tax return. We have seen the emergence of electronic money, shopping with credit cards, and many people urging the abolishment of cash. All of these things could not possibly have been fulfilled until this present time. Only after the invention of the computer could such a worldwide numbering system be administered.
Revelation 13:7 and Daniel 7:23 prophesy the establishment of a world government. The term New World Order has become a prevalent phrase in the worlds political culture. Mikhail Gorbachev made the term famous, and Pope John Paul II has referred to it repeatedly. In the September 12, 1990 issue of the Chicago Tribune, our former president George Bush said, Iraq is the first test for the New World Order. He emphatically stated that the Iraq War is Saddam Hussein against the world. The United Nations troops are continually referred to as the multi-national forces. The decision has been made to establish an interdependent community of nations that will rule the world under United Nations authority. The Bible says that this will lead us into a great world government. The formation of this government is at hand.

ave we ever seen a more hotly contested presidential campaign? Not in my memory. So many times, our decisions as voters depend upon the personality or the charisma of one candidate over the other. But should it really be that way? Candidates come and go. After their terms of two, four or eight years, whatever the case may be, they move off the scene. But the decisions they made, the votes they cast and the appointments they made live on. This brings us to the subject at hand. Should we be merely voting for candidates, or should we cast our votes according to a persons position on the issues? In the present political season, the issues have never loomed larger. Will we legalize same-sex marriage, or will we stand against it? Will we move further into the world governmental system being built at the UN, or will we preserve our sovereignty? Will judges that are appointed interpret the law or legislate from the bench? Should we allow partial birth abortion, or should it be against the law? These are the issues that will determine what kind of world our children and our grandchildren will live in. Our votes should not be a mere popularity campaign. They must be the expression of what is right and what is wrong. Are we still a JudeoChristian society, or have we slid into moral relativism? Make no mistake about it. We are

in an information war for the heart and soul of this nation. When major Christian denominations can read in scripture that, if a man lies with mankind as with womankind, it is an abomination to God, and then can appoint state bishops that are living in open homosexual relationships, we are rapidly moving down the slippery slope of moral decay. WHAT IS ENDTIME MAGAZINE?

In 1968, Irvin Baxter discovered the United States and other modern nations in the Bible. He also found the Berlin Wall in the Bible and that one day it was to be torn down, reuniting Germany, and that event would be the catalyst to spark an international movement called the New World Order. These things have now come to pass. Irvin Baxter, a Pentecostal minister, began Endtime Ministries in 1986 when he wrote A Message For The President, a book explaining the major prophecies of the Bible which he had been teaching since 1968. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, prophetic fulllment accelerated rapidly. The decision was made to launch ENDTIME. The other day you mentioned someone named Javier..Something who some people think may be the Antichrist. Who is he, what is his last name, and why do people suspect him? -Penny D. Solana was born in Madrid, Spain in 1942. He was a member of parliament from 1977 to 1995. From 1995 to 1999, Solana served as NATO Secretary General. He is currently the Secretary General of the European Union as well as the current High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy. On June 29, 2004 Javier Solana was selected by the Council of the European Union to be its first Foreign Minister under the new EU constitution. Most people in the know agree that Solana is the single most powerful person in Europe. Since the Antichrist will almost certainly come from Europe, it is natural to suspect Solana. North Korea not Taiwan
Although produced over a year ago, I nd that your video Did 9/11 Start World War III? is one of the most relevant in your arsenal. There is talk about North Korea almost daily in the news and you point to North Korea as a very likely ashpoint for the 6th Trumpet. Its a fascinating lesson that makes you sit up and take notice of current events making the 6th Trumpet seem more plausible as having begun on 9/11. The scenario of the war playing out with North Korea and China as the chief instigators, as opposed to Taiwan and China, is what really grabs you. -G.B.
REPLY: When it appeared that the Iraq War was over, many people questioned the validity of our Did 9/11 Start WW III? video. However, subsequent developments have shown that this message is now more relevant than ever. As President Bush has pointed out repeatedly, the War on Terror is going to be long. And as you stated, the dispute with North Korea is hotter than ever.
Islamic Beast?
I was made familiar with the Islamic Beast Theory. It is an interesting theory, and I wonder if you are familiar with it, and what your comments on it would be. -Jason
REPLY: I am not sure exactly what you mean by the Islamic Beast Theory, but I assume you mean that the Antichrist will be a Muslim. The world government prophesied for the endtime is depicted in Revelation 13.
RFID or UWB
Irvin made the comment that Sodom was destroyed because of homosexuality. Where in scripture do you find this? With such a large listening audience, your zeal must be contained within the truth first and foremost. I know you believe and practice this. Unless I lack understanding of the Word, I believe the Word said that there were not even ten righteous found in the city. It is my belief, as concluded from scripture, that homosexuality is the apex of degradation from sin and refusing Gods way. However, we must take care not to categorize sin. If we fail at one we fail at them all. Since all have sinned, we all deserve destruction just as those in Sodom. I need not continue about our righteousness through Christ Jesus. Although the agenda of the father of evil is advancing with great vengeance through the gay community, we know He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world. the men of Sodom attempted to break the door down in order to have homosexual relations with these two new men to the town. Thats how blatant and open homosexuality was in Sodom. Jude 1:7 states that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah gave themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh. Fornication includes homosexual activity, and going after strange flesh speaks of unnatural sexual desires. Of course, I dont need to remind you that the word for homosexual sexsodomy, is derived directly from the city of Sodom. It is apparent to me from the above scriptures that sodomy was the cardinal sin that exceeded Gods level of tolerance, resulting in His decision to destroy the city. As you point out, sin is sin. However, the scriptures do put sexual immorality in a class of its own. I Corinthians 6:18 instructs us to, Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. In Romans 1:26-27, Paul referred to homosexuality as vile affections. The Bible does teach that there are levels of sins progress in a person or in a nation until the level reaches Gods criteria that demands judgment. God told Abraham that four generations would pass before He brought Israel into her promised land for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. (Genesis 15:16)
Revelation 11:18 says, And the nations were angry. We can already sense a rising anger among nations in our world. We are not quite to the time of the fulfillment of Revelation 11:18, but we can already feel the conditions developing.
Seventh-Day mark
What are your thoughts on the Seventh-Day Adventist belief on the mark of the beast? They claim it is people who keep the Sunday Sabbath instead of the Saturday Sabbath. -Romy C.
REPLY: In the Old Testament, the Sabbath was on Saturday. If we were instructed to keep the Sabbath in the New Testament in the same way as people were instructed to keep it in the Old Testament, it should be done on Saturday. However, it is obvious from scripture that there was a change in the way the Sabbath was to be observed when we moved into the New Testament time. In the Old Testament, God commanded Moses to stone a man that was found picking up sticks on the Sabbath day. In the New Testament, the same God told a man to take up his bed and walk on the Sabbath. Why the difference? Scriptures teach us that the Old Testament practices were types and shadows of things to come in the New Testament. The Old Testament sacrifices were a foreshadowing of the blood of Christ that continues to cleanse each born again Christian on a daily basis. Likewise, the Old Testament Sabbath was a shadow of the rest that is provided when, as Sons of God, we are led by the Spirit24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hebrews 4:9-10 describes the New Testament Sabbath: There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Notice that we dont merely cease from our own works one day a week. We cease from our own works completely. When writing to the Colossians, Paul said, Let no man therefore
judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17) Seventh-Day Adventists teach that the Roman Catholic Church changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday, thus nullifying the Sabbath. They contend that those who worship on Sunday have taken the mark of the beast. However, the New Testament church is the one that instituted the practice of worshipping on Sunday.
Restructured Holy Roman Empire
Where in the Bible does it prophesy the restructuring of the Holy Roman Empire? -Rex R.
REPLY: The revival of the Holy Roman Empire (HRE) in the endtime is prophesied in two different places in scripture. In Daniel 2:36-44, the HRE is portrayed as the feet of iron mingled with clay. In Revelation 17, the HRE is represented by a woman riding a seven-headed, ten-horned beast. The woman is the Vatican, and the beast is the world government of the endtime. This depicts a marriage between politics and religion that has always been the structure of the Holy Roman Empire. Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, met with Austrian ofcials to lobby for a UN resolution that would proclaim suicide bombings crimes against humanity. A resolution would signal to those who recruit suicide bombers and those they target that their actions are wrong, Hier said. Why is the [UN] General Assembly quiet on suicide bombings? This is the crime of the 21st century. A resolution is needed to brand suicide bombings a crime against humanity for the welfare of the world. He brought up the issue with Austrian President Heinz Fischer and Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel. The chancellor promised to discuss the resolution. Fischer also said that Austria would not permit an October Islamic Congress conference banned by Berlins local government to relocate to Vienna if the German assessment of the meeting was accurate. Berlin concluded that the conference website condoned suicide attacks against Israel and the United States. Germany deported the main organizer, Fadi Madi, to his native Lebanon. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon estimates that the removal of all the Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip and four in the northern West Bank
Due to a persistent Israeli policy of pushing the Palestinian Authority (PA) out of Jerusalem, for the rst time in years Jordan, and not the PA, is in control of the administration of Islamic religious authority. This is believed to signal a weakening of the PLO and a shift in Jordans role in the Israeli-Palestinian conict. The Temple Mount, which Muslims call the Haram al-Sharif, is one of the most hotly contested issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conict. It is Judaisms most holy site and the Muslims third holiest site after Mecca and Medina, and has been under Israeli security control since 1967 after the Six-Day War when Jerusalem was reunited.
Cory Burnell believes the U.S. government will never adopt a conservative Christian agenda. He has joined with others who share his beliefs and are trying to take matters into their own hands. Burnell is one of the founders of ChristianExodus.org. The group hopes to gather conservative Christians for a series of mass moves to South Carolina. Their intent is to bring enough voters to the state to establish a government based on the Ten Commandments and conservative Christian values. Should they meet with opposition from the federal government, Burnell and his group have not ruled out the possibility of secession. Weve got a very unique quality of life here in South Carolina, so its not surprising that folks would want to come here, said Will Folks, spokesman for Gov. Mark Sanford. As for secession, weve tried that before and it didnt work out so well.
House Votes to Protect Pledge from Courts
In a risky election-year vote, the House sought to guarantee that Gods 50-year presence in the Pledge of Allegiance will be safe from challenges in federal courts including the Supreme Court. Chirac: Time for global tax
Joining forces with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, French President Jacques Chirac has called for the imposition of an international tax to help ght poverty. Speaking at the United Nations in New York, Chirac praised a report prepared by a French group that proposed a global tax be levied on arms sales and some nancial transactions. It is similar to the Tobin Tax idea proposed last year at the G8 summit. Chirac said the report contains technically realistic and economically rational solutions. n unnamed national company plans to tag all of its clothing items with radio frequency identification (RFID) tracking devices in 2005, according to Checkpoint representatives at the mid-September Frontline Expo 2004 trade show in Chicago. Checkpoint is the leader in electronic theft prevention tags and has recently begun encouraging its clients to incorporate RFID in their tagging programs. Could the mystery brand be Calvin

Albrecht characterizes any plans by Abercrombie & Fitch to roll out item-level RFID tagging as ill advised. Theyre still reeling from boycotts over their marketing practices. It would be a PR disaster for them to further antagonize the public. Ongoing boycotts of the company were launched by Christian and family oriented organizations, including Focus on the Family, in response to Abercrombie & Fitchs sexually explicit marketing materials. These materials have glorified teen nudity and group sex. Albrecht offers this parting advice to companies like Abercrombie & Fitch, Calvin Klein, Champion and any other companies considering item-level RFID tagging: Dont do it. Study what happened to Benetton before taking advice from RFID proponents like Checkpoint. It can be hard to win back customer trust once e youve crossed the RFID line.

Most people are technologically attuned. We live by computer. We love gadgetsanything new. The physical symptoms that this passage states will be suffered by those who come against Jerusalem at Armageddon are the exact symptoms experienced by victims of nuclear radiation: eyes consumed in their sockets, tongues in their mouths and flesh falling off the bones. It is the worlds worst kept secret that Israel has a significant nuclear arsenal. Janes Intelligence Report places the number of Israels nuclear missiles at around 200. The Israelis have promised that they will never
resort to their nuclear option unless the existence of the state is threatened. Israels nuclear capacity is known as the Samson Option. Why the Samson Option? Samson begged God to allow his great strength to return to him one last time. God granted Samsons request. As a result, he pulled down the house of the Philistine lords, killing himself and 3,000 of the enemys leaders. W h e n Israel picked the name, the Samson Option, she was notifying the world that, if she goes down, she will take her enemies down with her. Apparently, things will become so bad during Armageddon that Israel will resort to the Samson Option. The worlds last
war will be nuclear. At least three and one-half years before Armageddon, maybe longer, another war will occur. The prophecy foretelling this war is found in Revelation 9:13-16. It does not explicitly state that this war will be nuclear, but the results of the war indicate that it will have to be.

1974-1999: BRINGING THE BOMB UP THE BASEMENT STAIRS
Never Again! Reportedly welded on the rst Israeli nuclear bomb. Shortly after the 1973 war, Israel allegedly elded considerable nuclear artillery consisting of American 175 mm and 203 mm self-propelled artillery pieces, capable of ring nuclear shells. By 1976, according to one unclassied source, the Central Intelligence Agency believed that the Israelis had 10 to 20 nuclear weapons available. In 1972, two Israeli scientists, Isaiah Nebenzahl and Menachem Levin, developed a cheaper, faster uranium enrichment process that used a laser beam for isotope separation. The Israelis, interested in targeting data from U.S. intelligence, discovered that they were on the Soviet target list. American-born Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard obtained satellite-imaging data of the Soviet Union, allowing Israel to target accurately Soviet cities. This showed Israels intention to use its nuclear arsenal as a deterrent political lever, or retaliatory capability against the Soviet Union itself. Israel also used American satellite imagery to plan the June7, 1981 attack on the Tammuz-1 reactor at Osiraq, Iraq. This daring attack punched a hole in the concrete reactor dome before the reactor began operation (and just days before an Israeli election). It delivered 15 delay-fused 2000 pound bombs deep into the reactor structure (the 16th bomb hit a nearby hall). The blasts shredded the reactor and blew out the dome foundations, causing it
to collapse on the rubble. This was the worlds rst attack on a nuclear reactor. Since September 19, 1988, Israel has worked on its own satellite reconnaissance system to decrease reliance on U.S. sources. On that day, they launched the Offeq-1 satellite. Offeq-2 went up on April 3, 1990. The launch of the Offeq-3, which failed on its rst attempt, was successful on April 5, 1995. Mordechai Vanunu provided the best look at the Israeli nuclear arsenal in 1985 complete with photographs. A technician from Dimona who lost his job, Vanunu secretly took photographs, immigrated to Australia and published some of his material in the London Sunday Times. He was subsequently kidnapped by Israeli agents, tried and imprisoned. His data shows a sophisticated nuclear program. In the words of one American, [the Israelis] can do anything we or the Soviets can do. Vanunu not only made the technical details of the Israeli program and stockpile public but in his wake, Israel began veiled official acknowledgement of the potent Israeli nuclear deterrent. They began bringing the bomb up the basement stairs if not out of the basement. Israel went on full-scale nuclear alert again on the rst day of Desert Storm, January 18, 1991. Seven SCUD missiles were red against the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa by Iraq (only two actually hit Tel Aviv and one hit Haifa). This alert lasted for the duration of the 43-day war. Over the course of the war, Iraq launched around 40 missiles in 17 separate attacks at Israel. Several supposedly

But if Christians in the United States were to look deeper, they would find themselves faced with an uncomfortable paradox. On one side of this paradox is the patriotic Christian view that upholds Americas founding fathers as pillars of the Faith the Christian crown of Americas history. On the other side of the divide stands a history of Masonic Lodge memberships, unorthodox religious views, and significant connections with Egyptian and astrological belief systems the second crown in Americas past. How then, as Christians, do we reconcile this conflict? Were Americas founding fathers believers or were they not? As is often the case with an emotionally charged history, the truth lies somewhere in both camps. Yes, many of Americas founding fathers were devout Christians. This is especially visible in the wording of various State documents and letters, constitutions, and early educational material. But many, including some of the most famous founding fathers, had a foothold on the other side of the paradox. In the late 1950s and early 60s, the Masonic Service Association published a series of documents highlighting Freemasonrys connection with the early history of the United States and the founding fathers in particular. When the MSA conducted this study, it did so without any evident bias or agenda; by all appearances our present paradox wasnt even in question at the time. tems [so too are many other obelisks scattered across the United States]. But what about Thomas Jefferson? Jefferson is often given as an example of a Christian founding father. Yes, he was religious, but his version of Christianity was centered on a different version of deism than is normally associated with orthodox Christianity. Putting this belief into words, Jefferson wrote his own edition of the New Testament, complete with the removal of all extraneous matter. What does this mean? Simply put, there are no miracles or supernatural events in Jeffersons version of the Bible. Jesus was not born of a virgin, He didnt perform any miracles, and He didnt rise from the dead. The last two sentences of Jeffersons Bible read, Now, in the place where he was crucied, there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus, and rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. In a letter to John Adams in 1813, Jefferson explained the reason for writing his version the way he did. I have performed this operation for my own use, by cutting verse by verse out of the printed book, and arranging the matter which is evidently his [Jesus words] and which is easily distinguished as diamonds in a dung-hill. The result is an octavo of fortysix pages. Commenting on this work, Jefferson wrote in an 1816 letter to Charles Thompson, I, too, have made a wee little book from the same materials, which I call the philosophy of Jesus; it is a

paradigma of his doctrines, made by cutting the texts out of the book, and arranging them on the pages of a blank book, in a certain order of time or subject. A more beautiful or precious morsel of ethics I have never seen; it is a document in proof that I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the doctrine of Jesus... If I had time I would add to my little book the Greek, Latin and French texts, in columns side by side. Later, Jefferson enlarged his text, which became the Jefferson Bible we have today; miracle-less, and with Jesus still in the tomb. All of these issues, plus others, are cause for serious concern regarding the historical foundation of America. This is especially the case today as Americas Christian heritage has become popularized within segments of the Christian community to the point that some Christian leaders and organizations readily use this as a platform. And herein lies the paradox: they are not necessarily wrong. America does have a Christian heritage. It can be found in the hospitals and charities which have been in service since the countrys founding. It can be seen in the education system of that earlier time period. It has been witnessed through the many missionaries who have carried the gospel forward from Americas shores. Evidence of the Christian heritage can also be observed in the social and moral structures of the early American culture a culture that recognized the importance of Christian morals, church life, and a degree of common sense

based on Gods Word [the Ten Commandments come to mind]. So too can it be found in the thousands of immigrants who ed to America because of the persecution they experienced while standing for Christ in their homeland and in carving out a new life in a new land with the freedom to practice their faith. And it can be found in the fact that many of Americas early fathers were truly Christian in their beliefs. This was the predominant stance of the day; even those of Masonic leanings spoke of God and Providence, and were regular church attendees George Washington included. Understanding this historical context is vital. At the time of Americas founding fathers, the accepted vernacular was laced with Christian terminology, and the moral and social fabric was deeply grounded in biblical literacy. Unlike today, it was a time when ministers of the gospel were sought after for daily advice, be it in the realm of personal affairs, business, or politics. Simply put, they were respected by a large majority of the community, even by those who didnt share the faith. In other words, whether the founding fathers were Masons or not, or whether they were Christians or not, the reality of the day necessitated that they appealed to a solid religious foundation. For some of the founders, Christian terminology may have been only that an appeasement to the accepted moral order of the day. For others, no doubt, the Christian faith was living and real. The point is that America wears two crowns: one unquestionably based on the work and influence of the Masonic Lodge, and one based on the work and faith of Christian men and women. To say America has had a Christian founding is true, but its not entirely accurate. To say America has been guided by secret societies is also true, but doesnt portray the whole story either. In facing this dilemma over Americas heritage, we need to realize that we are dealing with a uniquely American phenomenon. As a coun-
try, the U.S. is still relatively young, and the nation is currently undergoing a cultural clash, which brings to the forefront a range of emotions, arguments, and counter-arguments. Its accurate to say that Europe is also facing massive societal shifts, but Europe has experienced many rounds of change over its long and bloody past. For America, this is its first truly deep cultural rift since the Civil War with shock waves emanating from industrial/information age changes, alterations to the religious and moral fabric of the land, and rounds of political and economic transformations that are rearranging the nation. Call it the shift from nationalism to globalism. The dichotomy over the founding fathers is a product of this clash, and exploring this paradox by trying to better understand the historical roots of America is an important task. But in trying so desperately to determine which crown America wears, we run the risk of xating on the past. Todays Christian needs to face where we are now, rather than the state of America two hundred years ago. Whether the founding fathers were Christians or not doesnt change the fact that the United States of the present is nothing like the United States of two centuries past, nor will it ever be again. e

n order to mend fences with Europe, must the United States join the very international treaties Bush has to this point been ghting against? Did the U.S. forego the ICC exemption it campaigned for in exchange for a deal to support our government in Iraq? Is the U.S. mending fences, and at what price? Why did the United States forego the world court exemption it had so vigorously campaigned for? Was this decision taken in exchange for world community support of the new government in Iraq? We dont know the answer to this question for sure. We are just putting 2 + 2 together. We do know that the two events happened almost simultaneously. Whatever the case may be, the contest of wills over the Iraq invasion and over the authority of the International Criminal Court reveals a greater truth about the struggle for global domination and endtime prophecy. World events should be filtered through what we know about Bible prophecy in order to gain a correct interpretation of the news. As such, Europe enters the world scene with tremendous authority derived not only from its colossal economy but also from a less tangible concept. Its a federation of countries that have tossed their sovereignties into the center of the ring expecting that the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts. What Europe has done, in essence, is to provide the world with a model of what oneworld government can and should be.

The global visionaries were forced to settle for half measures in order to get the people and the governments of the world used to accepting judicial rulings from the world level. Temporary tribunals were established to deal with specific problems such as Rwanda and Yugoslavia. These tribunals soon became accepted as normal structures of international governance. In the meantime, the educational and propaganda drive to establish the need for a world court system continued. General Assembly, U.S. President Bill Clinton stated that it was time to go forward with plans for a world criminal court. With the endorsement of the president of the United States in hand, proponents of the world court wasted no time. In early 1998, a preparatory conference was held for the purpose of designing the new world court. Soon afterwards, it was announced that a conference for final negotiations would be held in Rome beginning on June 15, 1998. The final document would be called the International Criminal Court Statute of Rome (the ICC). Representatives from almost every nation on earth converged on Rome for this all-important step into the uncharted waters of world government. For the next thirty days, the representatives worked day and night on the creation of the new world court. The United States was deter-

They envisioned a system of international law that would control the conduct of nations and individuals. They understood at the time, that this system of global governance would require a court system to interpret and enforce international law. Any level of law is toothless unless enforcement mechanisms with real power are in place. As early as 1948, proposals were made to establish a world court that would be the judicial branch of the developing system of international law. Understanding that this court would be above national control and realizing such a court would, in fact,

mined that the court should only receive cases recommended to it by the UN Security Council. This would have insured that the U.S. would have veto power over all cases going to the court. However, the nations of the world rebelled, ultimately establishing an independent prosecutor that could determine what cases would be brought before the court. On July 17, 2004, it was announced to the world that the International Criminal Court Statute of Rome had been passed by a vote of 1207. Because of the total invasion of national sovereignty that the ICC represented, President Bill Clinton ordered the U.S. representative to vote against the very court that he himself had set in motion a few months earlier. It was so telling that Mr. William Pace of the World Federalists Association, a leading and blatant advocate of one-world government, was the chief proponent of the new world court and guided the process from beginning to completion.

CLINTON SIGNS THE WORLD COURT STATUTE
In order to garner the widest possible support from around the world, the time for signing on to the ICC was left open until December 31, 1998. The debate raged in America as to whether the U.S. should sign or not. Pro-global advocates contended that the court would only try cases after the national government was deemed unable or unwilling to prosecute. Opponents contended that subjection to this new world court would effectively spell the end of U.S. sovereignty. They argued that even the President of the United States could be subject to trial before the international tribunal. Finally, on the last possible day to sign, President Clinton signed the
world court statute. He explained that he would prefer working to change the provisions of the court that he didnt like from the inside rather than be excluded entirely from having a voice in the future. Regardless of the arguments, the fact remained that the United States President had just placed America under the authority of the world court system.
BUSH OFFICIALLY RESCINDS THE U.S. SIGNATURE
Soon after the election of President Bush, he sent notice to the United Nations that he was rescinding the signature of the United States from the ICC statute. This created a veritable earthquake in the halls of world government, with many people contending that the world court could never function without the participation of the worlds only superpower. Nevertheless, the ratification pro-

cess went forward. Soon the movement in favor of world government proved to be stronger than thought. Many had speculated that ratification of the world court statute would take at least ten years. However, on April 11, 2002, the 60th nation ratified the treaty. This was the number required to place the ICC statute into force.

The ASPA blocks U.S. aid to allies unless they too sign accords to shield U.S. troops on their soil from being turned over to the ICC. When the time for renewal of the waiver rolled around in June of 2003, it was again granted amidst much debate and grumbling from the internationalists. The United States was served notice at the time that it should not expect an automatic renewal of the waiver each year. In the meantime, the Bush administration was aggressively twisting arms, demanding that nations who wanted assistance in any form from the U.S. sign agreements promising not to extradite Americans to the ICC.

Kofi Annan was very vocal in his opposition to renewal of the waiver. Unity on the Security Council seemed important. The last thing President Bush wanted at this stage of the presidential campaign was a bloody battle over renewal of the waiver. On June 23, 2004, the United States announced that it would not seek extension of the waiver. On August 2, 2004, the UN Security Council unanimously renewed the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq. Many astute observers thought these two actions were the result of a dealgive us international endorsement of the new government in Iraq and we will drop our demand for a waiver from jurisdiction of the international court. Whatever the truth was, the result was the same. The United States had capitulated on a pivotal issue on which hung the future sovereignty of the U.S. The worlds only superpower and the emerging world government had clashed, and the world government had won.
COULD BUSH BE TRIED BY THE WORLD COURT?
In a recent interview, UN General Secretary Kofi Annan was asked if the war against Iraq by the United States was an illegal war. Annan attempted to side-step the question, but when pressed, he said yes, the war against Iraq was an illegal act. If the war against Iraq was, in fact illegal, then it was against the lawinternational law. If it was against the law, then it was a crimea war crime. If it was a crime, then it could be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court. The question has to be asked: Could it be possible that President Bush would someday be placed on trial before the ICC? Some would think this possibility to be preposterous. However, a trial of a former president is presently in progress before the World Court. President Slobodan Milosevic is right now being tried for his actions as president of Yugoslavia. Jesus once said: He that resorts
to the sword will perish with the sword. Is it then possible to say: He that resorts to the world court will e perish by the world court.
