1. PURPOSE:
a. To establish procedure for identifying training needs and to impart training to all personnel whose work has impact upon the Occupational Health and Safety. b. To impart specific work related Training to concerned employees. c. To make them understand their roles and responsibilities in achieving conformance with the HSE policy and procedure and with the requirements of ESSAR HSE management system, including emergency preparedness and response requirements. d. The potential consequences of departure from specified operating procedures. e. To identify the competence level of persons performing the activities which are classified as having unacceptable OHS hazards and provide training to improve their competence. f. To impart General OH&S Training to key contractors.
2. SCOPE :
a. Applicable to all employees & contractors of Hazira Pipemill Ltd., Hazira
3. RESPONSIBILITY:
a. General OH&S Awareness Training Safety Dept, b. Job Based Specialized OH&S Training/ Competence Assessment Safety Dept. / Sectional Heads c. Competence mapping Concern HODs
4. PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
a. Records of training & Record of competency mapping.
5. PROCEDURE:
a. General OH&S Awareness Training: To provide general awareness training to all employees including contractors personnel: Safety Dept. shall Develop Short Term General OH&S Awareness training module which shall comprise (Internal Trainee can add additional contents as relevant):o Introduction to basic safety & OH&S legislation o OH&S Hazards and associated risks of the activities and services and their behavior
OH&S benefits to individuals and the society for improved personal Performance. o Emergency preparedness and their response requirements b. Potential consequences of deviations from laid down operating procedures o
c. Job Specific Skill Training Prior to Starting work on a New Job (through Tool Box Talk) The agenda may include: Significant occupational hazards and risks of their work activities and the OH&S benefits of improved personal Performance. Preventive and Control Measures/ Technique. Emergency Preparedness and Response d. Contractors Safety Communication Meet: This shall be organized once in quarter through facilitation by Safety Dept.

e. General Safety Induction training to Contract workmen: General safety induction training shall be given to all contract workmen before putting them in plant area. After the training a training card shall issued to the individual person. f. Competence: Competence mapping in terms of education, training and experience shall be done for all employees who are working in areas classified as having unacceptable OHS hazards in the prescribed format. Those performing specific work having unacceptable OHS hazards and risks shall be provided with specialized OHS training. Competency mapping matrix for Critical Jobs:
