FAMILY TIMED FUN
Inside are a few activities to help promote family time.
Switch It Up Fun
15 minutes flies by when you break it into action-packed, 60-second morsels.
Have the whole family do each of the following 15 activities for one minute. A minute goes by fast so you might have to break a sweat as a family. Youll need one member of the family to watch the clock and yell out Switch! and then call the next activity. Note: If your family cant do a certain activity, jump down to the extra ideas section for a substitute.

Fun Tip: Next time, create your own fun-packed minutes. Have everyone in the family write down fun, 1-minute activities on tiny pieces of paper. Then, start the timer and every minute pull out a new fun starter.

In the Car Bingo
Print out a different In the Car Bingo Card for everyone in the family.
Youll also need a crayon or pencil for everyone. When your family spots one of the objects on the card, have everyone mark it on their cards. The first to get four in a row vertically or horizontally yells out Winner, winner chicken dinner! and is declared the In the Car Bingo Champion. Make sure to print out the following bingo cards to have endless amounts of play time. Now grab your crayons and get ready to spot some holiday cheer!

Sing It Loud
Its time to warm up the vocal chords. It doesnt matter if youre in tune as long as your family is singing with true holiday spirit.
1. Pick your five favorite holiday carols as a family before you get in the car. 2. Agree to sing them at the top of your lungs for the entire drive. 3. Hop in the car. 4. Start singing. Dont stop. Louder. Louder. Louder.
Fun Tip: Get creative by trying some different styles. Sing the songs opera or country western style. You might even get adventurous and try rapping the songs.
Bright Light Scavenger Hunt
Time to go on a driving hunt. Pile in the family-mobile and see how many of the following your family can find.
All white lights Brightest lights Blinking lights Decorated tree over 25-feet tall Pink lights House with more than five wreaths A driveway lined with candy canes A light-up reindeer A decorated mailbox A partridge in a pear tree
Fun Tip: Make and take a fun winter snack on the drive. Hot chocolate? Gingerbread cookies?
INSIDE FUN
Snowball Fight
Who needs snow to start a snowball fight of epic proportions?
Heres all you need for a safe and fun inside battle-royale. 1. Time to raid your sock drawers. Get every pair of socks you can find, and then roll and tuck them into tossable balls. Fun Tip: Obviously, white socks will most closely resemble snowballs. But, dont be afraid to reach for the paisley dress socks or pink polka-dotted tights. Snowballs dont have to be boring. 2. Divvy out the snowballs. Everyone gets an equal amount. 3. To your battle stations. You can make a fort out of couch cushions, hide behind the kitchen chairs, or even break out an umbrella to use as a shield. Take cover and get ready to go. 4. Its go time. Start throwing, laughing and enjoying a classic snowball fight in the toasty comforts of your home.
Regift with Meaning

We all have heard its better to give than to receive. But, its better to give with meaning than to simply hand out gifts. 1. Have each member of your family go find something that is important to them. 2. Have them gift wrap their item. (Parents may need to help the children with this.) 3. Draw names to decide which member of the family you will give your gift to. 4. As the gifts are opened, have each giver share why they picked the item they did. Tip: You may want to give the guideline that the gifts are just given for a one-week period and then returned to the giver so that your child will be willing to part with something important, knowing theyll get it back.
INSIDE FUN
Dressy Holiday
The house may be decked out, but you can still take the holiday joy to a whole new level by dressing up your family as living decorations.
TRee TRImmeRS 1. Have a member of your family stand in the center of the room to act as the tree. 2. Have the rest of the family gather items to decorate him or her. Things such as scarves, streamers, lights, tinsel or whatever they can find to make a festive holiday tree. Fun Tip: Put presents at their feet and take a family photo sitting around the tree.Who knows, it might make the perfect photo for your familys holiday cards.
StocKIng StuffeR 1. Have each child in your family put on one of their parents sweatshirts. 2. Tuck the sweatshirt into their pants so it is sealed at the waste, but leave it billowed out. 3. Take turns stuffing fun toys and stuffed animals down the neck opening until they are stuffed to the top like a holiday stocking.
Bundle Up
See which member of the family can prepare for winter weather the best.
1. Have each member of your family go to his or her closet and put on as many layers as possible. 2. Start with undergarments and T-shirts and work your way up to multiple hats, scarves and gloves. 3. Whoever puts on the most layers is declared the winter winner.
Fun Tip: Once the whole family is overdressed, have everyone lie on their backs on the floor. On the count of three, see who can stand up the fastest.
OUTSIDE FUN
Maybe you have 3 feet of snow outside, or maybe its still sunny and 72. Either way, there is a ton of holiday fun to be had in the great outdoors.
Holiday Picnic
Who says picnics are just for the summer? Bundle up and take your next family meal outside. Be creative with the food. If its snowing, think hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies. If its a little warmer, try hot cider and donuts.
Snow Sculpture Contest

If youre lucky enough to have snow, get your family tapped into their inner artist by setting up a snow sculpture showdown. The only rule: no snowmen. Everyone makes something. It could be a dog. It could be a cube. It could be a surrealist interpretation of the moon landing. It just has to be original. Then, as a family decide: Whose is the best? Whose is the silliest? Whose is the biggest? Whose is the most creative?
Holiday Helpers
Holidays are a great time to reach out to neighbors who you know need a little extra help. As a family, pick someone near your home to help during the holiday.

Shovel their porch Rake their leaves Make them a meal Invite them over for dinner Make them a special holiday card Bake them cookies Walk their dog Ask them if there is anything you can do to help

Everyone can design their own Cow Watch to wear while you count down your next big family event!
1. Print out designable watches for everyone in your family. 2. Have fun customizing them together, with a variety of items, like colored pencils, crayons and stickers. Use your imagination! 3. Safely cut out the watches with scissors. 4. Help each other wrap your customized Cow Watches around your wrists, securing each with a piece of tape. 5. Who in your family has the best design? Put it to a vote!
