Coach Monica

Coachs Corner
I have the most amazing kids. Greg (19), Kelly (15), Paul (10) and Eleanor (5 months) When I was a kid I wanted to grow up and work at Disneyland. I still do! My favorite number is 5. (I swam the 500 free in 5:05.55) I was born and raised in Southern California and am just as comfortable in the ocean as the pool. I still get excited when someone calls me "Coach"

Who were your role models growing up?! Bree Walker. "a local newscaster who had severely deformed hands.# She didn't hide them on camera or when out in public. She talked to anyone who would listen about her disability and how she didn't let it dictate her personal or career path.! What do you enjoy most about coaching?! I love when the light bulb goes on and a swimmer gets passionate about their workout. I believe in getting to know a swimmer, helping them set small goals and then building them up to be as successful as THEY want to be. Swimmers own their successes. Not me. I love being their cheerleader AND their resource to get them where they want to be!! What is your favorite book?! The poems of Shel Silverstein. I can recite about 50 of them just o$ the top of my head....pure silliness.! What is your favorite movie? Meet the Robinsons. It makes me cry every time, but I still love it!! !

Coach Will
My favorite movie: I do not really have one favorite movie. I love action, horror, comedy, and documentary lms.! My favorite book: There are two, "The Pilgrims Progress" by John Bunyan, and "The Power of One," by Bryce Courtenay.! My favorite song: I have many favorite songs. But I truly enjoy 70s & 80s rock, Island Reggae, and also many of the old R&B classics.! My role models in life: That would have to be my parents and many of the coaches that I have trained with. Each coach taught me something new not only about the sport but about life lessons.! What I enjoy most about coaching: I enjoy being able to start that introduction to a sport that has given me so much, from friends to lessons about the real world, and showing them how much fun swimming can be. Swimming can be the most fun sport or the worst, it all depends on how you want it to go.! My Hobbies: I love to go shing, camping, anything that has to do with the outdoors, whittling, riding my motorcycle, and reading.!

! Monica Linn & Will Rodinsky!

Hello everyone! My name is William Rodinsky, but everyone just calls me Will. I am a HUGE sports fan! I have played pretty much every sport offered through GVRD (except soccer because I was never really good at kicking a ball). I rst started my competitive swimming career right here at this very pool with this very team. I was originally a water polo player that was looking to stay in shape during the off season and was told that swimming was the best way to do so. Little did I know that I would soon come to love swimming and make it a part of my life. I have made some life long friends and memories with this team and hope that you will too.

In swimming my favorite stroke is Buttery because when I swim it, its like I'm gliding through the water and its really easy for me. I like swimming the 200 yard buttery but it is an event I still have to work on to pace correctly. ! In school history and the arts are my interests. I also read a lot for pleasure. One of my favorite books is Divergent and book to movie adaptions are really interesting to me since I read all the books rst "The Hobbit, Hunger Games, Divergent, etc.#. !
