Dear Manoj,We preferebly keep vertical bracing either one in middle bay or one set at end for end bay.Bracings in single middle bay normally a economical option but sometimes it is not possible to provide in middle bay from machinery and men movement point of view.RegardsRajesh panchal

I want to highlight some relevant points regarding butt welding in line with the queries as follows : There are many kinds of butt welding which depend on the thickness of the element to be joined. Normally we use Single v !ouble " Single bevel !ouble bevel. #. The query is actually a splicing problem and normally splicing should be located withing 1/3rd of the beam length from supports. $. If welding is being done at erected position reduction in butt weld strength shall be considered by a factor of %.& and if at shop factor is #. 'ef : IS &#( ). If welding is being done from one side of the plate and there is no back strip then again a strength reduction factor

of *+& shall be applied. 'ef : IS &#( ,. -or full strength to develop if welding is being done from one side backstrip shall be placed in other side beforehand and welding shall be done in shop. .r shop welding shall be done from both sides after gouging the weld from the other side of root run. *. It is better to use splicing plate of of lower capacity /*%01 after doing butt welding. 2s because from sl. $ 3 ) we get cumulative factor of /%.& 4 *+& 5 %.*1. (. Top flange splice 6eb Splice 3 7ottom plate splice location shall be staggered at a distance of *%%mm /minm1 6ith regards 7ijay
