Safe travels
Scripture: By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people. Exodus 13:21-22 No matter where the people traveled, the LORD was with them. Each day his cloud was over the tent, and each night a fire could be seen in the cloud. -- Exodus 40:38 Youll travel safely; youll neither tire nor trip. Youll take afternoon naps without a worry, youll enjoy a good nights sleep. No need to panic over alarms or surprises or predictions that doomsedays just around the corner. Because God will be right there with you; Hell keep you safe and sound. -- Proverbs 2:23-26 Safe Travel Prayer: Lord, guide our mission teams journey right from the very beginning when they leave this parking lot next Friday. Give them safe and timely travel every step of the way. Help them arrive safely to do your work and to again arrive safely back home again when they are finished. Amen.

Favor as they pass through customs

Scripture: Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man. Nehemiah 1:11 Prayer for Favor: Lord, we delight in your name. Please listen to our prayers and give each and every one of our team members Your favor as they pass through customs. May everything go smoothly and nothing need to be left behind. We also pray, that every single piece of luggage will arrive with our team members, that nothing will be lost or stolen. Thank you Lord, for this opportunity to serve you. Amen.

Good Health and an abundance of energy and strength

Scripture: From Psalm 91 (verses 2-10)
This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. -- Joshua 1:9 But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. -- Isaiah 40:31

Prayer for health & Strength: Strength: Jesus, we know you go before our team and are preparing the way for them even as we pray in this place. We ask you Lord Jesus to keep our team healthy. Protect them from diseases, colds, flu, rashes, insect bites and more. Help our team to be strong and courageous every moment of every day and remind them that You are with them. Renew their strength Lord when they are weary and growing faint. Give their bodies the energy they need to get through each day. Renew them day by day, Sweet Jesus. In Your name we pray, Amen.

Protection from Any and All Danger

Scripture: He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm 91:4 GOD guards you from every evil, He guards your very life. He guards you when you leave and when you return, he guards you now, he guards you always. Psalm 121:8 Prayer for Protection: Lord, we praise You for Your great goodness. We ask that You would cover our mission team with Your feathers and hide them in the shelter of Your wings so that no harm would come to them on this trip. Lord, guard and guide their coming in and their going out. We are certain You will protect them from all forms of harm, whether it be physical danger or spiritual temptation. Lord be their shield. In Your Holy Name, Amen.

Protection from the devil & his schemes

Scripture: But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. -- 2 Thessalonians 3:3 Prayer for Protection from the devil: Lord, you are mighty and strong. You are ever faithful. No one and no thing can stand against you. Strengthen our team to stand firm against the devils schemes. Guard and protect them. Thwart any difficulties or schemes the devil would try to concoct. Go before them Lord and prepare the way for the work you would have them to do. Amen.

Gods blessings on the teams ministry Activities

Scripture: You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. -- Psalm 128:2 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us yes, establish the work of our hands. -- Psalm 90:17 Prayer for blessings on activities: activities: Jesus, be Lord of our teams ministry activities. Lead and guide them in the best use of their time and talents on this trip. Help them to accomplish what You have set out for them to do. Lord show Your approval and make their every effort successful. Establish the work of their hands Lord and bless every part of it. We cling to the promise that when we do Your will You will bless the work. Amen.

Salvation of souls & the strengthening of believers

Scripture: For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost. -- Luke 19:10 So also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. -- Hebrews 9:28 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. -- Romans1:16 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. -- Philippians 4:13 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. -- 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Prayer for Salvation & strengthening: Lord Jesus, You came to seek and to save the lost. We pray for the salvation of the souls of the people in the area surrounding this Guatemalan church and beyond. May the work we are doing there cause a stirring of curiosity about the church that would, in turn, cause many more to be added to Your fold! Lord, strengthen the community of believers there. May the believers be reminded that nothing is impossible with You and through You there is strength to do anything You would have them do. Strengthen these precious believers in everything they do and say. May the power and the glory be Yours forever, Amen.

Time to Relax
Scripture: The LORD says, My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. -- Exodus 33:14 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. -- Matthew 11:28 Prayer for relaxation: Father God, we ask that you would not only sustain our mission team but that you would give them rest when they are weary. Provide pockets of time for them to close their eyes and dwell only on Your presence. May these pockets of time bring great renewal and revitalize them for the next task ahead. When they are tired, Lord, refresh them. When they are exhausted, give them Your strength. Fill them with joy, so that no matter how tired they are they will rejoice because You are good and Your love endures forever. Help them not to complain in their weakness. Restore their minds so that they can still function properly. Give their bodies the energy needed to get through each day. Amen.

Restful sleep at night in unfamiliar surroundings

Scripture: I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.-- Psalm 4:8 I will lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. -- Psalm 3:5 Prayer for restful Sleep: Lord Jesus, we all enjoy the comfort of our own beds and our own familiar surroundings. Our team members do not have that on this trip and it may affect their sleep. We ask that you would extend favor on their slumber and provide restful sleep for each member in the midst of their unfamiliar surroundings. When they have slept, may they wake up completely rested, rejuvenated and refreshed. In Your Great name, Amen.

Adjustments to cultural differences

Scripture: There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. -- Galatians 3:28 Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralizedwhoever. I didnt take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christbut I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. Ive become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didnt just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it! -- 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 Prayer for adjustments: Lord Jesus, help our team to adjust quickly to the cultural differences they will face. Make them mindful of how their actions and reactions might be interpreted and guide them accordingly. May they be given grace for those difficult moments when the cultural differences seem overwhelming. May all involved in these projects be reminded that we are ONE in Christ. Help our team to keep their bearings firmly and squarely planted in You; that they can serve You readily without reservation or concern for how they will or wont be accepted. Give them incredible opportunities to be in on Your life-saving message to the world. Help them, Lord, to be your hands and feet in such a different culture. We ask, please, that the cultural diversity would be a boon and blessing; that our people would experience amazing, freeing, bold worship like never before- that they would see and feel the light of Jesus in their Guatemalan Christian brothers and sisters and be overwhelmingly encouraged. Gift them with Your sweet spirit to cover any cultural gaps. In Your Mighty Name, Amen.

Flexibility as plans change

Scripture: For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.-- Philippians 2:13 Prayer for flexibility: Lord Jesus, lead and guide our team to be flexible as plans change, change back and change again. Keep them up to speed and ready for the challenges of change. Make them mindful that no matter what task they might be given, that they are there to do it for Your good pleasure and You will bless each and every action carried out in Your name. With that said, Lord, we ask too that our team would be able to perform the needed tasks that their vast array of expertise has brought to this Guatemalan church. Help them to help our dear brothers and sisters in Christ; help them to build your church, with concrete and rebar and with love, grace and happy hearts. Amen.

Pray for their Families

Scripture: But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. -- Joshua 24:15

He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. Acts 10:2 Dont worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience Gods peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. -- Philippians 4:6-7 Prayer for families families: ies: Lord Jesus, our families are separated as loved ones are gone on this trip. We ask for your special blessings, protection and comfort to be with our separated families; assure them that their sacrifices during this time are for Your greatest gain and bless them for it. Give great grace to the mamas of young children as their dad is away and also to the fathers in charge of the complete household while mom is away. Be with husbands and wives that are separated, one from the other- use this time to draw their hearts closer to You and to each other in amazing ways. Lord, as our young people are on this trip, awaken their hearts and minds to the plans you have for their lives. Grant peace of mind to all the families, may no one worry but instead go to prayer about every concern. In Your Great Name, Amen.

Personal Quiet Time

Scripture: Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. -- Mark 1:35 Prayer for daily quiet time: Lord Jesus, please dont allow the pressures and schedule of this trip to cause our team to set aside their personal quiet time with you. Lord, grant our team members pockets of sweet quiet time on a daily basis where they might get away and meditate on Your Word so that their relationship with You will continually grow and deepen. May their quiet time be a time or refreshing and great joy. Bless them mightily, Lord. Amen.

Physical needs
Scripture: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -- Isaiah 41:10 Prayer for Physical needs: Lord, we pray in advance over any physical needs of our team, strengthen bones and muscles, sinew and tendons to do the work that will be required on this trip. Make every part of every body function the way You designed it to. Where there is anything out of balance, set it into perfect working order. Strengthen their bodies to successfully endure their workloads. We thank you Lord, in advance, for your healing hands. Amen.

Good work relationships

Scripture: May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. -- Psalm 19:14 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. -- Colossians 3:23 Prayer for work relationships: Dear Heavenly Father, we pray that you will bless our team with good work relationships- both within the team and with all others. Help them to be likeminded and of one accord. When there should come a time of disagreement, please help it to be quickly and favorably resolved in a timely manner. Make it so that no one person pushes to get their own way. Remind our people that they are not working for any personNo, indeed. The work they do is all for You and Your glory. Bless the work of their hands, Lord. Amen.

Clarity & Boldness of speech

Scripture: The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions. -- Proverbs 28:1 Now, Lord. enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. -- Acts 4:29 Prayer for clarity and boldness: boldness: Lord Jesus, Help our team to speak with clarity and boldness. May they proclaim you as Christ the King, through not only their words, but with their actions and reactions. Remind them to be bold and be strong for You are with them. Give the meek and the mild great courage to proclaim You. Bring specific scriptures to mind when the need arises and speak Your Words through Your people. May Your glory be proclaimed to all the nations. In the awesome name of Jesus, Amen.

Loneliness to be kept at bay

Scripture: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. -- Psalm 23:4 O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. -- Psalm 139:1-2 Prayer for loneliness: Most wonderful heavenly Father, guard the hearts and minds of our team from any despair or lonesomeness. Comfort our dear friends as they are homesick. Remind them that they are in Your loving care; that You are always with them

even when they are far from their loved ones. Fill them with Your very Presence and assure them of Your love and the love of their families. Grant them great opportunities to be drawn out of loneliness and into amazing worship. Amen.

That God would use each member

Scripture: And then I heard the voice of the Master: Whom shall I send? Who will go for us? I spoke up, Ill go. Send me! -- Isaiah 6:8 Prayer for Gods use: Lord Jesus, first and foremost we praise You for Your nudging and provision that brought each of these people onto this team. We humbly ask, Lord, that you would use each and every team member to make a difference on this trip, according to the gifts You have given them. Open their eyes and hearts to every rich opportunity You place in front of them and remind them daily of the small ways You are using them- such as the gift of a smile or a helping hand. May no team member come back from this trip feeling like they didnt contribute, please make them all aware of the difference their presence made. And Lord, may their usage not stop there but continue long after they come home. That they would bring an eagerness back home with them to share with the church family and beyond. May the blessings ripple effect of this trip reach very far. Amen. Amen. Amen.

Laughter and great memories

Scripture: He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting. -- Job 8:21 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them. -- Psalm 126:2 Prayer for laughter: Lord Jesus, You know the expectations and desires of each person going on this trip. You know where they can easily fall into misery and/or despair and where the devil might try to attack them personally. Dont let that happen. Instead, Lord- fill each of their days on this trip with some amazing God-honoring laughter and hilariousness. Create for them great, blessed memories of the work You are doing through them in the midst of whatever circumstances they encounter. Grant them bubbling laughter filled with joy that will dispel any tears, worry or fears. Bring the fun, Lord, and may it have with it a lifetime of remembering. We thank You, God, that you are Our Lord who enjoys laughter; that You are the Creator of awesome memories. In Christ Jesus Name, Amen.
