Sandy Hook Relief Survey

In a joint eort to promote transparency and consistent with their responsibili es to oversee charitable ac vi es and fundraising, A orney General George Jepsen and Consumer Protec on Commissioner William M. Rubenstein have asked chari es to voluntarily provide informa on rela ng to fundraising ac vi es in the wake of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Chari es were asked to respond to a set of ques ons regarding the amount of funds raised, their intended use, and the status of their distribu on. The A orney General and Commissioner will stay in contact with these organiza ons and con nue to request addi onal informa on about disbursements and steps taken to assure proper and appropriate use. The A orney General and the Commissioner cau on that the pos ng of informa on on this site does not cons tute an endorsement of a charity by their agencies or by the State. The A orney Generals Public Chari es Unit has compiled the material provided by those chari es responding to the informa on request.
