How do these affect your experience of the novel? In what ways do the characters function as real people with identifiable feelings, motivations, prejudices, etc? In what ways do the characters function as archetypes? How do the AP writers make their questions difficult? How do we defeat their tactics? What does the AP multiple choice exam teach? Other considerations (modifications, accommodations, acceleration, etc.): Students who require it will receive extended deadlines for writing assignments and/or shortened reading. Connections (prior learning/prior knowledge): Students will access previous experience in analyzing style and character development in literature, as well as the countless multiple choice exams they have taken in their lives.

TUESDAY Learning TargetStudents will improve their multiple choice skills and prepare for the AP exam. They will show their understanding by generating multiple choice questions. In class, we will go over AP multiple choice stems. We will also go over some previously completed AP multiple choice questions (completed in class).Then, using knowledge gained form these activities, students will generate their own multiple choice questions. These will cover chapters 1-11. They will employ strategies we have discussed (from the AP exam) and will always use one of the questions stems provided. There will be two questions per chapter, for a total of 22 questions. Students may communicate with one another, but each student must turn in her or his individual work. WEDNESDAY Learning TargetStudents will improve their multiple choice skills and prepare for the AP exam. They will show their understanding by generating multiple choice questions. In class, we will continue to create multiple choice questions. THURSDAY Learning TargetStudents will improve their multiple choice skills and prepare for the AP exam. They will show their understanding by generating multiple choice questions. In class, we will go over AP multiple choice stems. We will also go over some previously completed AP multiple choice questions (completed in class).Then, using knowledge gained form these activities, students will generate their own multiple choice questions. These will cover chapters 12-14. They will employ strategies we have discussed (from the AP exam) and will always use one of the questions stems provided. There will be three questions per chapter, for a total of 9 questions, with an extra question for the chapter of your
