Summer Play Scorecard!

So here is the plan. We will all sit down and read a scene or two from a variety of plays and then we all score them. We then all go with the group decision. "The Way The Gas Jets Sing on the Stairs" by William Emrys

A one-act WW1 play. On stage is a West-End Musical Hall style show showing life at home. Whilst on the floor in front of the stage shows life in the Trench. ~1hr in length. 6 main parts + 2 small but needs semi-speaking chorus. Around 50 for perform fee

Abridged Macbeth (Either


one written by Abi or someone else/Abi to arrange)

A 40-50 minute version of Shakespeare's Macbeth to round up the trilogy. A brave Scottish general named Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the throne for himself. He is then wracked with guilt and paranoia, and he soon becomes a tyrannical ruler as he is forced to commit more and more murders to protect himself from enmity and suspicion. The bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take Macbeth and Lady Macbeth into the realms of arrogance, madness, and death.

"The Exam" by Andy Hamilton/National Theatre

Written by Andy Hamilton, who also writes "OUTNUMBERED", The exam is comic look at the pressures put on young people by parents and teachers. Andrew, Chas and Bea are three candidates of mixed ability who find themselves holed up in the same exam hall waiting for their papers to arrive. Cast min 13, 3 are aged 14-16ish. "A Day in the Life" by Gary Diamond & Ray Lawrence

COMEDY. Mortimer's step father has just died and his brother, nymphomanic Sister, wife and daughter are all there for the reading of the will. Except Mortimer gets alot more than he bargained for. " Two Weddings and a Conference" by Karen Doling

COMEDY.A double-booked wedding reception at a hotel causes havoc for the brides, grooms, manager, receptionist, and the attendees of a conference that is supposed to be happening at the same time! However, it soon transpires that the double-booking is not the only coincidence they will have to deal with. Cast: 6F, 5M, 1 Either whith possibility of adding more..
