weakest point of the Yanukovych Regime:
INVESTIGATE THE ASSETS
OF YANUKOVYCH, HIS
CLOSE FAMILY MEMBERS
AND CLOSE ASSOCIATES
which are hosted by banks and companies
in the US
The US Patriot Act alleges that foreign criminals are able to access the
US nancial system through correspondent accounts, which the US
banks open and maintain for foreign banks.
Correspondent banking facilities create space for foreign banks manipulations
and money laundering by hiding identities and real parties of interest to nancial
transactions.
Taking into account the commitment of the US government to keep foreign
corruption out of the United States and the high risk associated with Ukrainian
banks accessing the US nancial system we would kindly ask you the following.
WE CALL THE US TO:
Identify and investigate the origins of assets which belong to the Ukrainian
politically exposed persons (PEPs) and are served by the banks in the US,
including all correspondent banking accounts.
Ask aII US hnanciaI institutions and company service providers to refrain
from conducting transactions Iinked to Ukrainian PEPs, specically Mr. Viktor
Yanukovych, his close family members, close associates and companies under
their direct or indirect control.
Trigger immediateIy anti-money Iaundering investigations and freeze assets
of Ukrainian corrupt PEPs, who directly or indirectly (through correspondent
banking) use the US nancial and/or corporate systems.
