The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC - Manila) and Board
of Nursing (BoN) has released a board resolution regarding the new dress
code for Nurse Licensure Exam (NLE) Examinees.
Board Resolution No. 2009 - 17 series of 2009 prescribed a dress code
in Nurses Licensure Examination and not allowing an examinee(s) to the
testing center who are not in prescribe nurse uniform. This resolution was
imposed in order to discipline nurses and foster the pride of the Nursing
profession.
Here are the list of prescribed nurse uniform during Nurses Licensure
Examination.
• Female: Clinical Uniform with white shoes and white
stockings but without nameplate, school insignia/ logo or pin.
• Male: Clinical Uniform with white shoes and white socks but
without nameplate, school insignia/ logo or pin.
• Pregnant Female: White Clinical Scrub Suit
• Repeaters: may wear clinical Scrub Suit
Examninee(s) who are not in the dress code shall not be allowed to take
the examinations and their examination fees shall be forfeited. Those
examinees who are denied to entry to the testing center but would later on
arrive on prescribed uniform but already late on for that particular
examination subject shall likewise not allowed to take the said
examination for being late. This resolution will take effect after fifteen
(15) days following its official publication on Gazette or in any
newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.

Influenza A (H1N1)

Symptoms of A(H1N1)

• chills
• fever
• coughing
• headaches
• sore throats
• muscle pain
• weakness
• General discomfort,

In some cases of the 2009 A virus H1N1, patients also are shown to have
diarrhea and vomiting. Most of the cases are nothing less that a common
cold, however due to the recent history of events, anybody with these
symptoms should get medical attention and explain to the doctor the
situation. The doctor will require making tests of the respiratory system
of nose and throat samples.

CDC, The United States Center for Disease Control “considers swine
influenza infection, in different diagnosis of patients with acute febrile
respiratory illness who have either, been in contact with persons with
confirmed swine flu, or who were in one of the five U.S. states that have
reported swine flu cases or in Mexico during the 7 days preceding their
illness onset”

Symptoms that may require medical attention

In children signs of respiratory distress, for instance, those might include

blue lips and skin, dehydration, rapid breathing, excessive sleeping and
significant irritability that includes a lack of desire to be held. In adults,
shortness of breath, pain in the chest or abdomen, sudden dizziness or
confusion may indicate the need for emergency care. In both children and
adults, persistent vomiting or the return of flu-like symptoms that include
a fever and cough may require medical attention.

Treatment : The treatment is usually done with antiviral drugs. This

treatment also can prevent from serious complication. The treatment in
general, helps the patient to feel better soon. The drugs should be taken
within 2 days of the symptoms. According to (CDC), it recommends the
antiviral drugs “Tamiflu” (oseltamivir) or “Relenza” (zanamivir)
however, most patients do not require medical attention or drugs. Also it
is important to note that the 2009 strain is known to be resistant to
“amantadine” and “rimantadine”.

How to prevent : The CDC recommends taking these steps:

1. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, especially after
coughing or sneezing.
Or use an alcohol-based hand cleaner.

2. Avoid close contact with sick people.

3. Avoid touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.
