==================================================================================== Using ATLAS ATLAS is primarily a coiled tubing drilling planning software, providing modeling of: Tubing forces - WOB, Hook Load Hydraulics Pressure, velocity, single or two phase fluid Fatigue ATLAS helps determine: If the target is reachable If hole cleaning will be a problem This section explains how to start and use ATLAS To start ATLAS 1. Click Start in the task bar. 2. Click All Programs > ATLAS > ATLAS 3. When the application is authorized, the ATLAS Main Menu appears

Starting a New Model To start a new simulation model, right-click on New Project > Add Wellsite.

Or just simply click the arrow on the left side of New Project. Subsequent wellsites can be added by right-click on New Project > Add Wellsite as shown below.

The default name of a wellsite can be changed by Right-Click > Properties. Enter the new name of wellsite and click Ok. Only one wellsite can be active at a time. To make a wellsite active, simply Right-Click > Active. Active wellsites have the active button greyed out.

To continue with the modelling, click the arrow on the left side of the wellsite. This drops down modelling wellbores (planned and drilled). Since we are at the planning stage of the project, we will only work on the planned wellbore. There are two ways to enter the well plan into ATLAS. 1) Entering the Kick Off Point, Build Up Rate, Drop Off rate, inclination, etc. (Quick build)

2) By clicking on the Table tab, the well plan table can be accessed. Copy the depth, inclination and azimuth columns of your well plan. Click the Paste button as shown below. The wellbore name, surface northing and easting as well as diameter scale of plan can all be entered in this wellbore property

By clicking on the planned wellbore, a new table appears at the left bottom section of the window. The properties of the well are usually displayed here. In the picture we have MDMax, TVDMax and Displacement.
