New late sign-in policy! Written notes are no longer acceptable! Beginning Second Semester, students who are late will only be allowed into class with a parent escort or a doctor/dentist note. This policy includes student drivers also. This policy has been put into place due to the high number of late students with forged notes. This policy will be in place until the tardy numbers are reduced!

Senior Cap and Gown Orders


Herff Jones is NOT coming back to Ardrey Kell for late Cap and Gown orders. If you have not ordered you Graduation Supplies you need to mail your order directly to them. The address is on the Order Form. They will have an online order method set up in February so keep checking their website. There will be a late fee for orders placed after the New Year. You may call them at: 704-531-0015.

Mid-Year Transcript Requests

Attention seniors: The transcript request form for mid-year grades is now available in Student Services. Mid-year requests will be prepared after first semesters Class Rank and GPA are calculated. The information is projected to be available mid-February. There will be no charge for the mid-year transcripts sent to universities you have previously applied to this school year. Mid-year transcripts should only be sent to universities

that have requested this information.

HEELS FOR SUCCESS at UNC-CHAPEL HILL Heels for Success is a one-day summer program to help academically-talented, rising sophomores and juniors prepare for college. Over the course of the day, students will learn techniques for approaching the ACT, explore the Carolina campus and its wideranging academic opportunities, as well as learn how to manage the college application process. Theyll also get the chance to connect with other outstanding students from across the country. This program is free to students, although we regret that we cannot provide transportation assistance. How do I nominate a student? To nominate your outstanding students, simply direct them to the Heels for Success website. The website contains instructions on how to apply and a link to the application. The deadline for submitting applications is February 28, 2014. Who is eligible for nomination? Heels for Success is designed for high achieving rising sophomores and juniors from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented students, first-generation college students, and those from rural areas or disadvantaged backgrounds. Students should be academically motivated, rank in the top 10% of their class, be enrolled in a curriculum that includes (or will include) AP/IB/dual enrollment courses, foreign language, and advanced mathematics. Heels for Success nominees should show active involvement in extracurricular activities and have demonstrated leadership. When will students know if they have been selected? Attention Juniors : UNC Chapel Hill Project Uplift Program

UNC- Chapel Hill is once again hosting Project Uplift which is designed for students from underrepresented populations and also prospective first-generation college students, along with individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Students should be academically motivated, rank in the top 20% of their class, be enrolled in a curriculum that includes AP course(s), foreign language, and advanced mathematics. Project Uplift nominees show active involvement in extracurricular activities and have demonstrated leadership. WHAT IS PROJECT UPLIFT? Project Uplift is a special program that enables high-achieving rising seniors to experience college life on the Carolina campus. Students spend two days visiting classes, meeting with faculty and staff, interacting with Carolina students, and participating in cultural and social activities. There is a nonrefundable $25 program fee which includes all meals, housing, t-shirt, and program materials (does not include travel costs). By attending Project Uplift, you will have an opportunity to attend classes, talk with professors, and experience life on a college campus. You will also learn about admissions procedures and how to afford a college education. Project Uplift will challenge and encourage you to become a leader. You will leave wanting to know more about yourself and others and how to make a college experience work for you.
