Community Church

Father and son in intense concentration on the tech team

February 2014
In the Groove
This has been a really weird winter so far. Our church showed its true colors as we moved into and through the holidays. We shared a meal together with the community leading up to Thanksgiving; told stories of Gods faithfulness on Thanksgiving Eve; served 600 people through the Pay-It-Forward Free Garage Sale; had a Christmas program focused just on children; and another program that featured more adult music. About that time winter hit. canceled. Then at the end of January we had to cancel Sunday services due to winter travel advisories and overall public safety. Weird.

Lord-willing we hope to all get back in the groove and return to corporate worship, fellowship and service. See you soon!
Welcoming visitors

This has been one of the toughest winters on record. Early in January we had a Sunday where few people were able to attend the gathering and a Wednesday night had to be

Study the Word

One of the principle reasons believers gather is to grow in their understanding of God, His ways, and His expectations for us. Here at FCC there are multiple opportunities for opening the Word of God on a weekly basis. Wednesday evenings there are groups for children, youth and adults. Bri leads one just for women and Pastor Randy has a coed study for any age. Sunday mornings at 9:30 there are adult studies led by Pastor Mark, Sheila, and Greg. At 10:30 worship we will begin a long-term look at Jesus from the Book of John.

Missions Update Be sure to pray with these missionaries facing changes. (a) Dan Ingles father passed over to Heaven. Although Dan was able to attend and speak at the funeral, Sheryl had to stay in Nepal. Lift them up the family as they process this loss. (b) Max & Deby Perez-Brown have relocated from the Middle East back to Costa Rica. Ask God to give them favor as they seek to motivate another generation of Latinos to step out into missions, particularly among Muslims. (c) Emily & Gabo Bastine-Hernandez have transitioned to a different mission organization. Pray that this process will go smoothly and that their ministry among university students in Mexico City will keep going strong.
