RFSI was established in the year 1986 at
Bangalore. It runs a Halfway Home, a
Long Stay Home, a Day Care Centre and
a Post Graduate College for developing
manpower in the field of psycho-social
rehabilitation. RFSI has a unique position
in India’s healthcare sector as a leading
organization. It provides community
based rehabilitation and training in the
field of mental health. Presently, RFSI
has 4 branches located at Bangalore,
Delhi, Lucknow and Sidlaghatta.
VISHWAS
RFSIDB moved into its new facility named
“VISHWAS” in Greater Noida, U.P. in
January 2008. This Halfway Home & Day
Care Centre is located in NCR at a distance
of approx. 30 kms from Delhi. It has been
custom-designed for patients suffering from
Schizophrenia and has several unique
features.
The Halfway Home has a residential
accommodation for 20 persons and includes
bed rooms, dining hall, counselling rooms, a
recreation room and lawns.
The Day Care Centre with capacity of 40
persons has vocational training facilities and
has an activity hall, library & computer
room.

PROGRAMME
The programme is conducted by
professionally trained staff. It includes
activity scheduling, group psychotherapies,
family therapy, art therapy, music therapy,
yoga community meetings, planned
recreation and vocational training.
The main focus is on development of social
and practical skills of members to overcome
their deficiencies in personal, social and
vocational functioning and thereby
rehabilitating and integrating them with
family and society.
ADMISSIONS
Admission to Halfway Home & Day Care
Centre is considered, if referred by the
psychiatrist under whom the patient is
undergoing treatment. The application is
reviewed by a Clinical Committee which
decides suitability of patient for
admission after an interview with the
patient and the family.
OUTREACH PROGRAMME
RFSIDB had been actively engaged in
outreach programme in 4 villages on the
outskirts of Delhi which was funded by
Wold Health Organization, Geneva,
Switzerland. It has also been organizing
camps at Dharuhera in collaboration with
2-wheeler manufacturer Hero Honda.
Programmes are being planned for areas
around Noida.
