Principals Column
The word of the week - SNOW! I do hope you all enjoyed the beautiful blanket of snow Mother Nature gave us this week. A snow day is always exciting. With our snow day came and early release and a late start. Thank you to everyone for your patience and cooperation as we dismissed on Tuesday. After the problems Atlanta had with the inclement weather, I am grateful for the proactive approach taken by our District. Everyone was home and warm when our frozen precipitation started. With our adjusted schedule this week, there have been adjustments made in this weeks activities. El Mercado will run next week for classes that missed their market day. See page 2 for a message from Senora Gonzalez. In addition, the Career Fair scheduled for today had to be canceled. We hope to reschedule and will let you know if we are able to have the Career Fair. Thank you to all our volunteers. We will keep you posted. I would also like to do a shout out to Jessica Jones for coordinating the District 5 Elementary Chess Tournament last weekend. We had 61 students sign up. It was a wonderful time and LMES Chess Club made us proud. See page 2 for the award winners. Enjoy the return of warmer weather this weekend.
