There are three phases in the ONGC history: 1947-1960 1961-1990 After 1990

During the pre-inpendence period, the assam oil company in the north-eastern and attock oil company in north western part of undivided india were the only oil companies producing oli in the country, with minimal exploration input. The major part of india sedimentary basins was deemed to be unfit for development of oil and gas resource.

After inpendence, the national government realized the importance oli gas for rapid industrial development and its strategic role in defence . consequently, while framing the industrial development and its strategic role in defnece.consequently, while framing the industrial policy statement of 1948,the development of petroleum industry in the country was considered to be of utmost necessity.

In 1955 ,govt of India decide to develop the oil and natural gas resource in the various region of the country as part of the public sector development . with this objective , an oil and natural gas directorate was set up towards the end of 1955,as a subordinate office under the then ministry of natural resource and scientific research.

Since its inception ,ONGC has been instrumental in transforming the countrys limited upstearm sector into a large viable playing field, wuth its activites spread throughout india and significantly in overseas territories. In the inland areas,ONGC not only found new research in assam but also established new oil province in combay basin (Gujarat), while adding new petroliferous areas in the assam arakan fold belt and east coast basins (both inland and offshore). ONGC , went offshore in early 70s and discovered ,along with subsequent discoveries of huge oil and gas fields in western offshore changed oil scenario of the country, werediscovered.the almost important in E&P activites at a globally competitive level.

The liberalized economics policy, adopted by the government of india in july 1991,soght to deregulate and de-licence the core sector(including petroleum sector) with partial disinvestement of government equity in public sector ubdertaking and other measure.as a consequence therof ,ONGC was re-organized as a limited company under the companys act ,1956 in feb 1994.

In the year 2002-03 ,after taking over MRPL from the A V birla group, ONGC diversified into the downstream sector.ONGCill soon be ebtering into the retailing business.ONGC has also entered the global field through its subsidiary,ONGCvidesh ltd(OVL).

In the simplest of terms, facility management is the process of managing all the multiple services that enable a facility to become a profitable investment for its owners and a productive environment for its users.

Since facility are complex physicals structure that require a broad spectrum of services in order to run properly and efficiently, facility management depends upon the skill, vision and experience of its practitioners and most recently upon a powerful computer aided methodology that the facility-related services are functioning where problems lie, how they are affecting costs or generating synergy, among a host of other factors. Example: Hard Skills Soft skill

Electrical wiring Customer relation Power distribution Time management Carpentry Team building Plumbing and water-works Technical judgment Operation With this detailed and reliable information hand, the facility manager can then make all the necessary decision concerning service system and suppliers, so that the facility can be run at a productive level for both owners and user.

Facility management mainly express the extra facility provides by the company to the worker and employee except salary and wages.

Every bit information regarding the buildings operational system , its service requirement and their costs are fed constantly into the database. with this rigorously up-dated information at hand , our facility managers can then make recommendation to owners about the most cost effective resource available on the market, for the buildings multiple operational needs. And even if firm has not been involved with the design and construction stages of building ,they will work with the architects and engineers to build the database that helps to centralize and control the management of facility. Facility management is a relatively new profession, with its pioneering work having been laid out in the late 1960s.before that intensive period of industrial innovation, managing a property usually meant coordinating the wide spectrum of services options and system associated with a buildings security, furniture and equipment, and many others, without a centralized technological instructure.

Every organization is liable for the maintains and keeping its assets and properties. Itsthe duty of an organization to take care of its offices, building, outside area, parks, road, and residential colonies. Ac power plants, etc in order to provide a healthy environment to the employees. Prior to the introduction of facility management in ONGC separate contractors for different premises and services. in total where were approx.34-37 contracts which were given to various contractors.due to the presence of numerous contarcts for different services like horticulture, civimaintainces, electrical maintaince ,etc at all the premises , a large number of employees were involved in supervising the work done by them.

This hampers the utilization of the workforce in the core activity of the organization and thus the organization is not able to get the maximum out of its work force.

From the last 2 year all the services were clubbed together and thus a single facility management contract was awarded to a company named BVG India ltd.this company looks after the entire services at all the premises including TEL BHAVAN, KDMIPE, ONGC, hospital ,IDR,ONGC colony , Anveshanbhavan and central store.

NEED OF SINGLE FACILITY MANAGEMENT: o o o o To provide a healthy environment to the employee To enhance the user satisfaction level. Better co-ordination between services. To provide quality services.

Research methodology provide us all data which is help full to complete our project, or its is the way of method in which we gain knowledge related to our project. Systemized method is necessary to gain knowledge. the technique deployed to analyze and interpret the data for the purpose of hitting the target objective plays a crucial role.

Research Instruments:
The research instruments generally used to collect the primary data are Questionnaires. Sample size: In sample size I use only the employee who work in the ongc, and the sample size is 50 employees.

RESEARCH DESIGN: Formulation the objective of study. Designing the method of data collection. Collection of data. Processing &analyzing the data

Secondary data collection: Comparative analysis of articles of newspapers and other publication. Journals and books. ONGC website. .

: STRENGTHS: The org. Possesses skilled manpower at a low cost. It is a financially secure company.

WEAKNESSES: ongc head office is huge comprising of 7 corporate offices premises(corporate office) , NEGI BHAVAN, AVESHAN BHAVAN, IDT,KDMIPE, ONGC ACADEMY , GEOPIC) and 2 residential colonies (north and south). So it is quite difficult for one company to give a flawless service in all these premises. Thus many a time few areas or department gets neglected.

OPPORTUNITIES: If the project is successfully implemented, ongc will have a better facility management system ,and maximum satisfaction.

THREATS: If there is no facility management company then ongc employees will get distracted from its core activity.

Therefore the company should focus more upon the most dissatisfied department therefore the facility management of ongc provide full facility to own employee, and employee are also satisfied with this facility. Facility management is also provide a platform for satisfied their employee. It is also help full to sustain the employee in the organisation, therefore the employee of ongc org are work in that place more that 30 year, because ongc provide all that facility to employees which he wants.

In ongc mostly facility which provide to own emloyee is very good.

: Through all analysis it is clear that, every thing is well n good in ongc, like facility management services, satisfactory level of employee. But something new is included in ongc then I think it gain more profit. Such as:

The employee which is working in ongc thats are mostly too aged , I know that are experience person but if this organisation give the chance new youngster then i think it grow more, because they use new technology . In BVG the organisation take new youngster , but only contract base, for some period, therefore thats job is not secure, and new employees feel unsecure in that organisation, therefore they will not give full devotion to org.

All the facility are good but these facility are not provide to the BVG employees, so I think they are also part of that org, there all the facility are equally provide to the BVG employees.
