Five Terminal Objectives 1. Given an unlabeled map of Southeast Asia, each student will correctly label the key nations involved in the Vietnam War. 2. Each student will evaluate whether the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution provided sufficient cause for war and write a paragraph supporting their conclusion. 3. Given lyrics to 1960s popular music, students will select key passages to describe the division within the US to the Vietnam War. 4. Each student will assume the role of a participant in the Trial of Lt William Calley (prosecution or defense) and during a mock trial, be able to argue an authentic position. 5. Each student will create a social media persona of a person from the Vietnam War, formulating realistic posts expressing a point of view on the conflict, and incorporating historical photographs and other primary sources.
