Experience
Art Director, Kabzy
August 2013 to Present
Kabzy is a project I became involved in immediately after BuyersClub reduced its workforce. I met the owner while I was working at BuyersClub and he asked me to come onboard soon after. My primary role here has been to create branding for Kabzy. Initially to attract investment, and eventually to present to the public. My secondary role has been to visually design the companys website and app in accordance with that branding and the business needs

Designer, BuyersClub
April 2012-August 2013
I started work with BuyersClub in April 2012 and stayed until the company had to reduce its workforce in August 2013. My job at BuyersClub was to work as an intern copyrighter, however, my boss soon found my passion for design and allowed me to build upon it in a design role. During my time at BuyersClub I designed our advertising, catalogues and all imagery on the website. I also managed and designed our email newsletter and worked with our UX team to create a new homepage and navigation for the website that was to be implemented soon after I left the company. My time at BuyersClub gave me experience working with A/B testing of designs, a chance to work with an expert marketing team and gave me a real understanding of how business needs its design to work.

Designer, Bibliobake
Early 2010-April 2012
Bibliobake was a project I started in college with two friends. The premise was to build an online site where we could sell high-end baked goods and organise baking parties

for childrens birthdays and corporate events. My role at Bibliobake involved every creative aspect of the company, from getting down and dirty in the kitchen to designing the brand, the website and attending meetings with Enterprise Ireland to try and attract investment. I finished up in Bibliobake in April 2012 when I got the offer to go and work with BuyersClub. I accepted as I felt I needed more experience in business and design before going out on my own. Bibliobake was featured in a DCU documentary about start ups, which is available on YouTube

Freelance Designer 2011-Present

My freelance career started in 2011 by doing free and paid design work for friends, family and a small local political campaign. This career has grown into something that has provided me a sustainable income, working with a variety of clients, undertaking everything from web and app design for start ups to designing simple and beautiful websites, adverts, leaflets and general branding for small businesses. I come highly recommended and can provide references upon request. for childrens birthdays and corporate events. Skills
I work mainly in Photoshop and InDesign. I can work easily with Illustrator too but I prefer another app called Sketch that handles most of my vector art requirements. I have an expert-level understanding of the OSX and iOS operating systems and am familiar with Android and Windows UI too. I have proficient working knowledge of Final Cut Pro for video editing. I also have a good deal of working experience with Snacktools, Mail Designer and Mailchimp software for HTML email newsletters and correspondence and flash banner creation. Although I practise very simple code myself, I do have good working knowledge of how CSS, Javascript and HTML coding work and their limitations. I practise simple coding regularly in Coda2 to keep my mind agile so I can work as efficiently as possible with engineers and developers. I am in the process of learning Adobe Flash at the moment.
